Overview of the Infrastructure and Transport Team

Moelis & Company is strengthening and expanding its Infrastructure and Transport team in London, advising corporates, infrastructure funds, sovereign wealth funds, pension funds and other long-term infrastructure investors across Europe and globally. The team works as part of the Firm’s global platform, with a core focus on infrastructure and transport M&A, capital raising and financing transactions.

The mandate spans infrastructure fund and corporate advisory, take-privates, minority and growth investments, and capital markets activity, complemented by advice on continuation vehicles and project-level financing. Sector coverage is focused on core infrastructure across transport, social, power and regulated utilities, in addition to adjacent core-plus infrastructure assets, for example infrastructure leasing businesses.

Senior Team

The Analyst will support the Team Head and senior bankers within a lean deal team, working across transaction execution and client coverage as the Firm continues to grow its Infrastructure and Transport franchise.

Position Description:

We are seeking a highly motivated Analyst to join our Infrastructure and Transport team in London as we strengthen and expand the franchise. The Analyst will support senior bankers within a lean deal team across transaction execution and client coverage. We welcome candidates whose relevant experience has been gained through internships, as well as those already working at Analyst level. Prior infrastructure experience is not essential, but a deep, demonstrable passion for the sector, strong analytical ability and intellectual curiosity are key.

Responsibilities:

• Conduct detailed financial and strategic analysis of infrastructure companies and assets, including valuation work using DCF, comparable companies and precedent transactions.
• Build and maintain financial models to support valuation, transaction analysis and client decision-making, developing infrastructure-specific and project finance modelling skills.
• Assist in preparing client presentations, pitch materials, information memoranda and other transaction documentation.
• Research infrastructure subsectors, companies and investors, monitoring market developments, regulatory changes and investment trends.
• Support the execution of live M&A, capital raising and financing mandates, including due diligence, data room management and process coordination.
• Work closely with senior bankers to support client coverage, identify opportunities and evaluate strategic alternatives.

Qualifications and Experience

• A deep and demonstrable interest in infrastructure, supported by relevant research, academic work, internships or independently developed sector knowledge.
• Strong analytical and quantitative skills, with a solid foundation in accounting, corporate finance and valuation.
• Prior internship or full-time experience in investment banking, corporate finance, infrastructure investing, project finance or a closely related field. Candidates with internship experience only are encouraged to apply.
• Prior infrastructure experience is not essential, but candidates should be able to explain their interest in the sector and demonstrate an understanding of its key themes and investment characteristics.
• Financial modelling skills appropriate to experience level, with the motivation to develop expertise in infrastructure valuation and operating models.
• Highly organised and detail-oriented, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate complex analysis into clear insights.
• A collaborative approach, strong interpersonal skills and a willingness to take ownership and learn.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
• Fluency in English is required; proficiency in an additional European language is advantageous.
