SUMMARY

The Research Coordinator supports the implementation of the Helix GenoWell program within the health system's precision medicine department. This role coordinates research activities, participant engagement, and data management while ensuring compliance with regulatoryandethicalstandards.ReportingtotheDirector,PrecisionMedicine,theResearchCoordinatorcollaborateswithHelix,clinicians,andresearchstakeholderstosupportthesuccessfulintegrationofprecisionmedicineinitiativesintoclinicalandresearchworkflows.

WHAT IS GENOWELL?

GenoWell is Rochester Regional Health's innovative precision medicine program, developed in partnership with Helix, a leading population genomics company. Through no-cost genetic screening, GenoWell helps patients gain valuable insights into how their DNA may impact their health, empowering them and their healthcare providers to make more personalized care decisions.

As part of the GenoWell team, you'll have the unique opportunity to combine your clinical skills with patient education, community engagement, and emerging genomic medicine. This role allows LPNs to build meaningful relationships with patients, contribute to groundbreaking healthcare advancements, and play an important part in shaping the future of personalized medicine for our communities.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Coordinatedailyresearchactivities,includingparticipantrecruitment,enrollment,andstudydocumentation.

  • CollaboratewiththeDirector,PrecisionMedicine,clinicians,researchers,andoperationalteamstosupportHelixinitiativesandresearchprotocols.

  • Ensurestudiesremainontrackandcomplywithregulatory,IRB,andorganizationalrequirements.

  • Educateparticipantsonprecisionmedicineandgenomictesting,obtaininformedconsent,andaddressquestionsorconcerns.

  • Manageresearchdatacollectionanddocumentation,ensuringaccuracy,confidentiality,anddataintegrity.

  • SupporttheintegrationandutilizationofgenomicdataincollaborationwithITandHelixrepresentatives.

  • Promoteparticipantengagementthroughoutreach,education,andcommunityengagementactivities.

  • ServeasaresourceforcareteamsandresearchstaffregardingHelixandprecisionmedicineprograms.

  • Coordinatestakeholdermeetingsandassistwithreports,presentations,anddisseminationofresearchfindings.


QUALIFICATIONS


• Bachelor’s degree in a health related field and 2+ years of experience in either clinical practice or research studies
OR
• Associate’s (or practical nurse diploma) degree in a health related field and 4+ years of experience in either clinical practice or research studies required.

• Master’s degree in a relevant field (e.g., clinical research, genomics, or public health) preferred.

LICENSES / CERTIFICATIONS


• Collaborative Institutional Training Initiative (CITI) Program training required within 30 days of hire.

  • Clinicalexperienceinahealthcaresetting,particularlyinvolvingdirectpatientinteraction,education,andfollow-upcare.

  • ExperienceworkingwithinEpic,withknowledgeofreferrals,documentationworkflows,andreportingfunctionsstronglypreferred.

  • Demonstratedinterestinprecisionmedicine,genomics,orclinicalresearchprogramspreferred.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Light - Light non-clinical roles include frequent standing or walking and minimal lifting, typically under 20 lbs. Tasks often involve sitting at a workstation, using a computer, handling paperwork, and interacting with colleagues or visitors. Fine motor control is essential for typing and administrative tasks, while clear vision and hearing support accurate communication. Emotional and cognitive demands include managing multiple tasks, handling interruptions, and exercising independent judgment. Environmental exposures are generally low but may include shared workspaces, proximity to clinical areas, or occasional crowding.

$63,000.00 - $80,000.00

The listed base pay range is a good faith representation of current potential base pay for a successful full time applicant. It may be modified in the future and eligible for additional pay components. Pay is determined by factors including experience, relevant qualifications, specialty, internal equity, location, and contracts.
