About the ExternshipÂ
AmeriPharma’s Externship provides students and early-career professionals with an opportunity to gain firsthand exposure to the healthcare and pharmacy industry while learning about the day-to-day operations of a growing healthcare organization.
Externs will have the opportunity to observe and learn from professionals across various areas of the organization, depending on their interests, educational background, and program availability. This experience is designed to provide meaningful exposure to healthcare operations, pharmacy services, business functions, and the professional environment. Specific educational or experience requirements may vary depending on the externship area.

Duties and ResponsibilitiesÂ
- Observe professionals and learn about day-to-day healthcare and pharmacy operations.
- Gain exposure to workflows, processes, and systems used within a healthcare organization.
- Participate in educational discussions, team meetings, and training opportunities when appropriate.
- Assist with designated administrative, research, or operational projects.
- Learn about the roles and responsibilities of different departments.
- Develop a better understanding of healthcare industry practices and professional expectations.
- Ask questions and engage with team members to gain insight into potential career paths.
- Complete an externship project or other learning activities as assigned.

Externship opportunities may be available across areas such as:
- Pharmacy Operations
- Healthcare Operations
- Patient Services
- Business Administration
- Finance
- Other corporate or healthcare-related functions
Placement and responsibilities will depend on business needs, availability, and the extern’s background and interests.
QualificationsÂ
- Interest in healthcare, pharmacy, business, or a related field.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Professionalism and willingness to learn.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information appropriately.
- Reliable, organized, and attentive to detail.
- Ability to work respectfully and collaboratively with team members.
