Health, Safety, and Environmental Technician

The opportunity

Hitachi Energy in Alamo, TN, is looking for aHealth, Safety, and Environmental Technician to help create a safe, compliant, and environmentally responsible workplace. In this hands-on role, you will work closely with supervisors and team members to support safe behaviors, reduce risk, and strengthen HSE performance across the site. You will apply practical HSE knowledge, build trusted partnerships with operations, and help maintain systems that support occupational health, production safety, environmental compliance, and fire prevention. This role is a strong fit for someone who enjoys being on the floor, solving problems, coaching others, and making a visible impact every day.

How you’ll make an impact

• You will coach and advise supervisors on HSE practices and expectations.
• You will support compliance with applicable local, state, and federal HSE requirements.
• You will help maintain HSE management systems, inspections, audits, and corrective actions.
• You will verify corrective actions help prevent repeat incidents or unsafe conditions.
• You will support incident reporting, investigation, and follow-up activities.
• You will review trends from incidents, inspections, audits, and corrective actions.
• You will help implement Group and Business Unit HSE programs and procedures.
• You will organize activities that increase awareness and encourage safe behaviors.
• You will support HSE planning, key performance indicators, goals, and risk reduction efforts.
• You will model Hitachi Energy’s values of safety and integrity.

Your background

• You have a high school diploma or equivalent.
• You bring two to five years of manufacturing experience, preferably with HSE applications.
• You have solid interpersonal, coaching, and influencing skills.
• You use practical problem-solving and sound judgment in daily work.
• You communicate clearly in both spoken and written formats.
• You work well with others and are approachable on the floor.
• You have experience with OSHA requirements, behavior-based safety, ISO 45001, or ISO 14001.
• You can support cross-functional teams in a matrixed environment.
