Project Financial Controller

At ReachCentrum, part of ERM — a global leader in sustainability consulting — we are looking for aProject Financial Consultant to join our finance consulting team.

This is not a traditional reporting role. It is aconsulting-facing position where you will act as akey business partner, helping project managers and clients understand complex financial situations, identify risks and opportunities, and support informed decision-making.

You will work at the crossroads offinance, client advisory, and regulatory projects, contributing directly to the success of international REACH Consortia.

Your impact:

• In this role, you will move beyond numbers to deliverclear, actionable financial insight
• Lead the preparation ofhigh-quality financial reporting, ensuring accuracy and relevance for both internal and external stakeholders
• Analyse project performance andtranslate financial data into meaningful insights and recommendations
• Identify and explain variances, andwork alongside project managers to drive corrective actions
• Support decision-making by providingforward-looking views on budgets, risks, and financial performance
• Act as abridge between finance and non-finance stakeholders, making complex topics clear and accessible
• Contribute toclient discussions, bringing financial clarity and strengthening trust

Core responsibilities

• Monitor assigned projects on a monthly basis, ensuring:
  • Accurate recording of financial transactions
  • Correct allocation of internal time
  • Adequate budget coverage
• Ensure data integrity within reporting systems and support the transition toenhanced digital tools
• Review and validate financial outputs before external communication
• Translate the financial history and current position of each consortium intoclear, structured reporting, supporting transparency and governance
• Contribute to thecontinuous improvement of financial processes and controls

We are looking for aconsultative mindset combined with strong financial foundations:

• Experience inproject controlling, financial analysis, or business analysis
• Ability tointerpret data and communicate insights clearly to non-finance audiences
• Strong stakeholder management skills, with confidence working across teams and geographies
• Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced, matrix environment
• Proactive, curious, and solution-oriented
• Strong interest inprocess improvement and value creation
• Advanced Excel skills (essential)
• Fluent in English; additional languages are a plus

The recommended recruiting range for this role is €28,000 - €32,000. In accordance with local legislation, the salary information displayed applies to Italy only. Recommended recruiting salary bands in other locations will differ.
