AlumniRelations Manager, Steers Center for Global Real Assets | McDonough School of Business - Georgetown University
The Alumni Relations Manager coordinates and supports alumni engagement across the Steers Center. Working with Team Leaders, Business Unit Leaders, and Center leadership, the Manager connects alumni with opportunities to support students, programs, events, committees, chapters, and advancement; organizes the outreach and follow-through needed to turn interest into participation; and maintains the records and operating infrastructure required for consistent engagement. The teams and Business Unit Leaders retain ownership of their strategies, priorities, external relationships, decisions, measures, and results.
Additional duties include, but are not limited to:
- Coordinate alumni engagement across teams and Business Units in support of priorities established by their leaders.
- Organize alumni outreach, introductions, participation, handoffs, and follow-through for agreed needs.
- Maintain alumni-engagement records, interests, participation history, assigned next actions, and follow-up dates.
- Manage the Steers Center Advisory Board and alumni committees and coordinate regional alumni chapters.
- Support advancement, events, communications, admissions outreach, and other program needs through coordinated alumni participation.
Work Interactions
The Alumni Relations Manager reports directly to the Executive Director, and  collaborates closely with the Assistant Dean of Alumni Relations and Corporate Partnerships. This position also works across the Center with Team Leaders, Business Unit Leaders, Center leadership, and University Advancement. Those leaders define their needs and retain ownership of strategy, priorities, external relationships, decisions, measures, and results. The Manager coordinates the alumni engagement that supports their work, provides current activity information, completes agreed follow-through, and raises stalled opportunities or cross-team issues to the appropriate leader. The position interacts regularly with alumni, donors, board and committee members, employers, students, faculty, and senior executives.
This role advances Georgetown’s mission by engaging alumni in service to students and the broader community; expanding access to experiential learning, mentoring, internships, and career opportunities; and strengthening the relationships and institutional capacity that support the Steers Center’s long-term impact.

Requirements and Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree.
- Minimum 1-3 years of experience in alumni relations, advancement, board management, employer engagement, career services, or other relationship-management role; higher education, nonprofit, real assets, or related professional-network experience is preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to manage relationship pipelines, operating cadences, and tracking systems; strong data quality, follow-through, communication, interpersonal judgment, discretion, and cross-functional coordination skills.
- Ability to work independently, manage concurrent deadlines, and participate in occasional evening events or travel.
- No specialized certification is required.
Work Mode Designation
Work mode designation is full-time,On-Campus. Please note that work mode designations are regularly reviewed in order to meet the evolving needs of the University. Such review may necessitate a change to a position’s mode of work designation.
Pay Range:
Theprojected salary or hourly pay range for this position which represents the full range of anticipated compensation is:
$41,926.00 - $65,090.00Compensation is determined by a number of factors including, but not limited to, the candidate’s individual qualifications, experience, education, skills, and certifications, as well as the University’s business needs and external factors.
