Research Lab Technician I

• Performing routine molecular and biochemical laboratory procedures, including PCR andImmunoassay-based protein measurements
• Assisting with processing, preparation, and analysis of biological samples
• Performing cell/tissue culture procedures, as appropriate to individual projects
• Preparing buffers, reagents, standards, and other materials required for experiments
• Collecting, organizing, documenting, and performing basic analysis of experimental data
• Maintaining accurate and well-organized laboratory records
• Assisting with routine laboratory operations, including inventory management, orderingsupplies, and maintaining laboratory organization
• Following established laboratory protocols and applicable environmental health and safetyrequirements
• Working collaboratively with the principal investigator and other members of the research team

As the candidate gains experience, there will be opportunities to develop greater technicalindependence and participate more broadly in ongoing research projects.

Preferred Qualifications

- Bachelor’s degree in biology, biochemistry, molecular biology, neuroscience, immunology,

- Previous laboratory experience through undergraduate research, employment, internships, orother research training

- Familiarity with basic molecular biology and biochemical laboratory techniques

- Experience with one or more of the following is desirable butnot required:

• PCR and related molecular biology techniques
• Protein analysis and immunoassays
• Cell or tissue culture
• Biological sample processing
• Basic quantitative data analysis
• Experience withLuminex xMAP technologyis a plus but is not required
• Basic computer and data-management skills

This full-time position provides an opportunity to gain hands-on experience inblood protein biomarkerquantification, Alzheimer’s disease research, and translational biomedical researchwhile workingclosely with the principal investigator and a growing research team.

The hourly base rate for this position is $22.43 - $25.11.
