Business Analyst (Demand Planning)

Job Summary:

The Demand Planning Analyst is responsible for supporting demand planning and forecasting activities by analyzing historical and current data, estimating future product demand, assessing promotional impacts, monitoring inventory flow, and developing effective forecast models.

This role requires strong analytical, mathematical, and statistical skills, along with a solid understanding of demand planning, forecasting, inventory management, and customer/product trends. The role will work closely with internal and external stakeholders to communicate forecasts, identify exceptions, address demand-related issues, and improve forecast accuracy.

The primary responsibility of this role is to maintain accurate and reliable demand forecasts while supporting collaborative planning, forecasting, and replenishment activities and contributing to continuous improvements in demand planning processes.

Job Responsibilities

• Perform the role of a Demand Planning (DP) Analyst,assisting in all DP duties, includingestimating future product demand,promotional uplifts,analyzing inventory flow, and developing forecast models
  

• Plan, schedule,monitor,and ownCPFR (collaboration, planning,forecasting, and replenishment) activities for key accounts, if assigned. 

• Design, provide analysis and communication with internal and external stakeholders onKPIs, andinitiateappropriate corrective action. 

• Develop a deep understanding of customer, product mix, and promotional trend performance.
  

• Develop effective forecast models based on industry trends and demand patterns
  

• Propose and implement solutions to improve demand forecast accuracy
  

• Successfully communicate forecast and inventory estimations to key stakeholders.
  

• Conductweekly forecast maintenance tasks.
  

• Address demand-related issues ina timely and effective manner
  

• Identify and generate reports to manage various unique forecasts andidentify exceptions.
  

• Proactively root-cause forecast errors and adjust models accordingly
  

• Prepareforecasts and present findings in theS&OE setting.
  

• Work with large data sets and follow established processes for both importing and exporting data into systems.
  

• Train new analysts on systems and processes as needed. 

• Work collaboratively in a cross-functional environment todevelop and test forecasting tools. 

• Review generated forecast output and provide input on how to adjust model settings. 

• Ability to work in both group and autonomous settings. 

• Develop and document SOPs. 
  

Qualifications Needed

• Bachelor’s degree in business, supplychain, or other relevant fields
  

• A minimum of 3 years' experience ina demand planning/forecasting role.
  

• Solid understanding of inventory management practices and procedures. 

• Collaborative problem-solver.
  

• Strong mathematical and statistical knowledge. 

• Capability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
  

• Must be proficient in customer language requirements in both written and oral form.
  

• Must be willing to work customer-required business hours.
  

• Ability and desire to quickly learn new software and concepts.
  

• Strong user of Excel with a core understanding of Microsoft Office 365 systems.
  

• Python, SQL, etc. experience isa plus.  

• Experience using forecasting software. 

• Experience working with different industries. 

• Strong knowledgebase in using AI and deploying it todrive business improvements.
