What you will do:
  • Receive service calls from the Service Resource Center, including a brief description of equipment/system malfunctions.
  • Service, troubleshoot, inspect, test, and verify Fire & Life Safety systems from a variety of manufacturers, including SimplexGrinnell.
  • Diagnose problems and perform service, repairs, testing, and inspections on electronic fire alarm systems and other related building system products at customer sites.
  • Follow prescribed troubleshooting procedures and refer to technical manuals, part manuals, change notices, bulletins, and modification notices to service and inspect equipment.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, submittals, specifications, software/systems, programs, schematics, and operational product manuals.
  • Responsible for contacting customer representatives and ascertaining equipment/system issues and inspection requirements.
  • Exhibit excellent customer service skills by consistently communicating with district staff and customers to ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Complete service and inspection documentation with proper coding through communication devices such as smartphones and laptop computers.
  • Obtain customer signatures upon completion of service or inspection assignments.
  • Participate in a scheduled on-call rotation.
  • Help train or mentor others on the service team.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

What we look for:
  • 2+ years of documented experience in low-voltage electrical systems, including Fire/Life Safety systems.
  • Valid CFAA Certification.
  • Experience performing inspections, testing, troubleshooting, and maintenance of fire alarm and life safety systems.
  • Experience reading and interpreting blueprints, submittals, and operational/product manuals.
  • Knowledge of test equipment, multi-meter, digital analyzer, and commissioning devices.
  • Knowledge of applicable fire alarm codes, standards, and inspection requirements.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
  • Strong customer service and communication skills.
  • Moving equipment and tools up to 50-70 lbs.
  • Class 5 Driver's License with a clean driving record.

HIRING HOURLY RANGE: $28.4-$39.18 (Hourly rate to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data.) This position includes a competitive benefits package. The posted salary range reflects the target compensation for this role.
