BASICFUNCTION:

Thepurposeofthispositionistoperformhighlyskilledresearchor
analysesinvolvingcomplexscientificmethodsoracomplexseriesof
steps.Responsibleforoverseeingorconductingcriticalpartsofresearch
projects.Mayalsoperformtheday-to-daycoordinationofaresearch
group,takingchargeoftheexecutionofpartsofaresearchproject.This
positiontypicallyreportstoaPrincipalInvestigator(PI).
 

SUPERVISORY ACCOUNTABILITY:

Responsible for orienting andtrainingothersandassigningand
reviewingtheirwork.Mayalsoberesponsibleforactinginaleadorsenior
capacityoverotherpositionsperformingessentiallythesameworkor
relatedtechnicaltasksandreportingtoahigherlevelonaformalbasis.
 

NATUREANDSCOPE:

Toestablishinternalandexternalcontactwithinstitute’sstaff,researchersandjuniorresearchers,andoutsidevendorsforthepurposeofgatheringandexchanginginformation.
 

PRINCIPALACCOUNTABILITIES:

• Assistisconductingliteraturereviewsneededtosuccessfullycompletea majorproject.
• Assistinformulatinganddevelopingguidelinesforapplyingtoeducationalpracticethefindingformtheliteraturereviews.
• UnderthedirectionofthePI,serveasanadvisorandworkcloselywiththestaffoftheprojectintheconductofclassroomfieldresearch.
• Conductworkshopsthatwillbenefitstaffworkingwithcertaintargeted
• populationsandmakepublicpresentationsregardingtheresearchprojects.
• Performadministrativeworkinsupportofresearchobjectives,developand
• monitorsprojectbudgetandauthorizeexpendituresofprojectfunds.
• Design,fabricate,repairand/oroperateresearchequipmentforthedevelopmentofresearchdataasrequired.
• Planandcoordinatecomputerizedstatisticalanalysesforadvancedandcomprehensiveresearchprojects,whichincludeconsultingwithotherresearcherstoderiveanunderstandingofthehypothesisandexperimentalapproachanddecidinguponappropriatestatisticalanalysesforvariousdesigns.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

Ph.D.economicsorresearchdisciplinerelatedtotheeconomics.
