Program Summary
The U.S. Army Tank-automotive and Armaments Command (TACOM) sustains the Army’s mission to develop, acquire, field, and sustain ground combat, tactical, and support systems throughout their lifecycle. The program focuses on ensuring operational readiness, reliability, and safety of automotive and ground support equipment critical to Army operations.
Under this contract, personnel provide maintenance, repair, overhaul, and sustainment support in accordance with Army technical manuals, safety standards, and performance requirements.
Job Summary
The Material Coordinator is responsible for coordinating the receipt, storage, tracking, issuance, and movement of materials, parts, and supplies in support of TACOM maintenance and sustainment activities. This role ensures materials are available to support production schedules, maintenance work orders, and operational requirements while maintaining accurate inventory records and compliance with logistics and property accountability procedures. The coordinator will additionally support cycle counts, physical inventories, and reconciliation activities.

Roles and Responsibilities
Process workflow in Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP), Logistics Modernization Program (LMP).
Accomplishes a variety of assignments related to planning and acquisition of parts per assigned branch.
Uses knowledge of the Logistics Modernization Program (LMP) ) CAMS / ERP software package to accomplish duties.
Provides detailed support within LMP processes to ensure requirements derived from the Material Requirements Planning (MRP) module of the system are valid and supported to meet mission schedules.
Uses thorough knowledge of the MRP structure to support the execution of material and demand management within the LMP enterprise solution.
Assuming ownership and responsibility not only has an adequate supply of materials but also minimizes unnecessary or premature expenditure on funds.
Request material needed through validation from Parts Managers and defined SOP procedures.
Utilizes LMP Production order Components listing to identify material requirements in support of Kit building and production requirements.
Performs the function of Updating required materials to the production order and final issuing of components listing to eliminate unnecessary demands as determined by the consumption of material.
Utilizes LMP transactions to issue and return materials to correct production orders for billing accuracy.
Performs Daily Investigation of production orders to identify parts billing issues, missing final issue indicator, Transfer Requirements/Orders and performs corrective action to resolve supply issues.
Works with shop floor material expediters to ensure parts are on the production orders or passes information up to the parts managers to have material placed on the BOM as necessary.
Compile and communicate material shortages impacting production with the ability to utilize excel spreadsheets and email systems.
Ensures parts are ordered to meet schedules.
Determines and takes action to resolve any parts problems and identify wrong parts received, substitute items not acceptable, non-availability of material or parts, etc.
Maintains contacts with customers and other offices on program requirements for urgent, critical shortage, and other special items.
Performs production order maintenance to the components list as needed. Research and takes actions to obtain material through Interactions with Material Planners, Production Planners, other Expeditors, and DLA.
Uses knowledge of scheduling activities and the impact to materials management within the ERP/LMP/SAP environment.
Communicate with Parts managers, Production Planners, PMD personnel to ensure proper materials will be in place to support schedule requirements.
Ensures supply actions are valid and addresses supply issues such as late deliveries and can identify proper corrective actions in a timely fashion with minimum supervision. Incumbent works directly with internal and external departments/organizations such as on-site Defense Logistics Agency (DLA)., a complex multi-mission installation. Access to the information management system for email and LMP is required.

Basic Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent; supplemental technical or vocational training preferred
Typically 2-4 years of experience in material coordination, inventory control, warehouse operations, or logistics
Skill in verifying short, over, and damaged conditions of incoming stock by such means as opening, counting and visually checking the contents of containers.
Knowledge of procedures for reporting short, over, and damaged conditions of incoming stock.
Ability to make reports on these conditions to the supervisor or other responsible supply personnel when required.
Ability to obtain or maintain a U.S. Government security clearance (as required)
U.S. citizenship required
Preferred Qualifications
Previous experience supporting DoD, Army, or TACOM programs
Prior government contracting experience

This position will be a part of a physical work environment that requires standing, walking, and lifting. There is potential exposure to machinery, tools, fuels, oils, and outdoor conditions. Employees may also be required to work shifts, overtime, or weekend support based on mission needs.
