Job Description
About the role
This position requires you to be an immigration subject matter expert and support the Manager in leading a team of Senior Consultants, Consultants and other team members to ensure that all cases are processed in an accurate and timely manner. You will provide technical immigration guidance to team members, strategic immigration advice and compliance services to the Firm's client base, manage clients' expectations and escalations. You will be responsible for training, guiding and supervising team members as well as advising on Malaysian immigration regulations, procedures and policy, including managing visa application processes for clients. You will maintain communication and relationships with key client contacts and ensure they are kept informed on progress throughout the application process.
Key responsibilities
Train new employees and directly or indirectly supervise staff, providing mentoring, coaching, and performance management.
Review instructions and information for each new case, identify key issues that may impact immigration formalities and address these with the client.
Demonstrate excellence in managing complex cases and ensuring team's work output is accurate and timely by prioritizing cases and monitoring workload.
Provide direction to the team using extensive knowledge of business immigration case matters.
Strengthen and maintain strong client relationships with key stakeholders in client accounts, contribute to client meetings and business reviews and assist with the successful delivery of the team’s output of work.
Work with clients to perform intake of cases, troubleshooting issues and establishing case strategy.
Proactively address client escalations, lead high touch calls, and provide accurate and relevant client reporting.
Perform a wide range of varied case related duties requiring specialized knowledge and skills in employment-based immigration matters.
Ensure self and team follow documented firm standards and policy to mitigate risk and ensure regulatory, operational and client compliance (e.g., complete mandatory training such as Data Privacy, follow Client Protocols, etc.).
Requirements
Minimum 7 years' experience in immigration, preferably with supervisory/managerial experience
Possess strong knowledge of procedural requirements for various types of Malaysia visa
A client service mindset, attention to detail and desire to achieve a high level of productivity
Strong analytical and judgement skills
Good facilitation and communication skills
Ability to contribute to positive work environment, effectively collaborate and promote teamwork
