As part of a unique partnership with NAV CANADA, CAE delivers initial Air Traffic Services (ATS) training to future Air Traffic Controllers at our state-of-the-art training centre in Montreal.
This role provides classroom and simulator-based instruction using approved ATS training curricula and courseware while ensuring compliance with applicable regulatory and customer requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver classroom, briefing, and simulator-based training in accordance with established training standards and customer requirements.
- Conduct simulator sessions and training activities in accordance with approved operating procedures.
- Administer examinations, evaluations, and progress assessments.
- Maintain accurate training records and document trainee performance and progress.
- Identify and recommend remedial training when required to support successful learning outcomes.
- Record simulator utilization and report discrepancies using established processes.
- Participate in instructor qualification, recurrent training, and professional development activities.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of training curricula, courseware, instructional methods, and training processes as a subject matter expert.
- Ability to work different shifts.
Minimum Qualifications
- Successful completion of the minimum qualification and experience requirements approved by Transport Canada to act as an Air Traffic Service (ATS) Instructor prior to delivering ATS content.Â
- Working knowledge of ICAO and/or Transport Canada Air Traffic Control regulations.
- Minimum three (3) years of operational experience in an Air Traffic Services environment.
- Demonstrated interest in training, coaching, or talent development.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong interpersonal and collaboration skills.
- Ability to maintain a customer-focused approach in dynamic or high-pressure environments.
- Commitment to quality, continuous improvement, and operational excellence.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and adapt to changing requirements.
- Fluency in English and/or French.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working in Canada as a VFR (Tower/Ground) Controller, or IFR (Enroute or Terminal) Controller.
- Previous instructional, training, coaching, or facilitation experience.
- Current or previous instructor qualification issued by a recognized regulatory authority.
- Experience delivering technical or operational training in a regulated environment.
- Experience supporting the development or improvement of training materials or programs.
