Position Summary
The Air Advisor Instructor / MSAS Instructor/SME delivers Air Advisor academic instruction while leading course management functions, including curriculum management, course scheduling, and administration. This role blends classroom instruction with the day-to-day oversight that keeps Air Advisor courses current, organized, and running smoothly.
What You'll Do
•     Provide instruction and evaluations on security cooperation authorities, command relationships, mission planning, execution, and reporting
•     Teach methodology for cross-cultural instructional environments
•     Teach risk management, security cooperation, funding and legal authorities, force protection, theater dynamics and U.S. foreign policy, mission planning, U.S. Embassy operations, lesson planning, training aids, presentation skills, and classroom management
•     Review student lesson plans and instructor delivery, and provide effective feedback
•     Provide course support to include curriculum development and management, course scheduling, and administration
•     Perform common Instructor/SME duties, including curriculum support, classroom preparation, evaluations, remedial instruction, and professional development
What You Bring
Education
•     Master's degree from an accredited college or university
Experience
•     Deployed experience as an MSAS Mission Commander/Team Sergeant, Military Advisor, Political-Military Affairs Strategist, Regional Affairs Strategist, Foreign Area Officer, Provincial Reconstruction Team member, attaché, Security Cooperation Officer, or equivalent military advisory position
•     Completion of Air Command and Staff College, Senior NCO Academy, or a sister-service equivalent
Clearance
•     Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance
Instructor Qualification Requirements
All contractor instructors must complete the USAF EOS instructional methods course, the Academic Instructors Course, or an approved substitute. New instructors complete approximately two weeks of institutional skills training followed by a one-year instructor upgrade certification period. Instructors must document 180 hours of instruction within one year of assignment and meet applicable CCAF accreditation, evaluation, and continuing-development requirements.
Additional Details
Work environment:Professional academic/office environment at JB MDL. The role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, and filing cabinets.
