What to Expect

We’re looking for highly motivated self-starters who want to sit in the driver’s seat of one of the most ambitious technological efforts on the planet. As an AI Safety Operator on our Vehicle FSD (Supervised) team, you won’t just drive—you’ll actively generate the critical real-world data that trains and validates Full Self-Driving systems. Every mile you log, every observation you capture, and every insight you share directly advances safer, more capable autonomous vehicles.

You’ll operate engineering vehicles for extended periods, conducting dynamic audio and camera data collection. This is a hands-on role that combines excellent driving skills, sharp observational ability, and a willingness to thrive in a fast-paced, ever-evolving environment.

This opportunity will require the flexibility of traveling to domestic destinations, as necessary. Ability to work a flexible schedule that includes at least one of your normal working days be a weekend day.  Able to work a Day, Afternoon, or Night shift. The Afternoon and Night shift pays 10%-15% in addition to the hourly base pay for the role.

What You’ll Do

  • Drive a prototype vehicle for 6 to 8 hours daily in designated areas, collecting high-quality data that powers Full Self-Driving development
  • Drive and evaluate vehicles using Full Self-Driving and in manual across set and open-road routes, through changing weather and road conditions
  • Analyze and report on the quality of data collected during each shift
  • Provide feedback and suggest process improvements to optimize data collection
  • Write detailed daily drive reports documenting observations and issues
  • Ensure the vehicle’s safety and operational status before every shift

What You’ll Bring

  • A valid driver’s license is required with a minimum of 3 years of driving history
  • Ability to sit for up to 2 hours at a time
  • Exceptional attention to detail and the ability to stay highly observant for long stretches
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English
  • Tech-savvy with experience managing tools for data collection and troubleshooting with advanced PC skills, particularly in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Familiarity with Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) and Autonomous Driving Systems (ADS) is preferred
  • Overtime is also typical for this position but not guaranteed
  • This is a safety-sensitive position, subject to drug testing in accordance with Tesla policy and applicable law
