Agile Scrum Master

Job Title: Agile Scrum Master – Banking / Insurance

Location: Charlotte, NC or Detroit, MI

## Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced **Agile Scrum Master** to lead and coach cross‐functional Agile teams delivering solutions in the **US Banking or Insurance domain**. The ideal candidate will have strong hands‐on experience with **Scrum and Agile methodologies**, exposure to **regulated financial environments**, and working knowledge of **modern technology platforms** such as **Cloud, Snowflake, and AI/ML‐driven solutions**. The Scrum Master will act as a servant leader, facilitator, and Agile coach to ensure high‐quality, predictable delivery and continuous improvement.

## Key Responsibilities

### Agile & Scrum Facilitation

* Facilitate all **Scrum ceremonies** including Sprint Planning, Daily Stand‐ups, Sprint Reviews, and Retrospectives

* Coach teams on **Agile principles, Scrum framework, and best practices**

* Ensure adherence to **Definition of Ready (DoR)** and **Definition of Done (DoD)**

* Remove impediments and act as an **Agile change agent** to enable smooth delivery

### Team & Delivery Management

* Enable teams to deliver **high‐quality increments** each sprint in line with business priorities

* Track and report **Agile metrics** such as velocity, sprint burndown, predictability, and cycle time

* Support backlog refinement and ensure user stories meet acceptance criteria

* Collaborate closely with Product Owners, Business Analysts, Architects, and Engineering leads

### Banking / Insurance Domain Responsibilities

* Support Agile delivery within **regulated financial environments** (Banking / Insurance)

* Ensure Agile practices align with **compliance, audit, risk, and security requirements**

* Coordinate with stakeholders including business, compliance, QA, and release teams

* Handle dependencies across multiple teams and vendors in large enterprise programs

### Technology Awareness & Enablement

* Work effectively with teams building solutions on **Cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP)**

* Support data‐driven projects involving **Snowflake, data lakes, analytics platforms**

* Understand delivery challenges and workflows for **AI / ML solutions**, APIs, and microservices

* Partner with technical teams without being a developer, but with strong **tech fluency**

### Continuous Improvement & Scaling

* Drive **continuous improvement initiatives** through retrospectives and actionable insights

* Mentor junior Scrum Masters and contribute to Agile Communities of Practice

* Support **Scaled Agile frameworks** (SAFe, LeSS, or similar) when working with multi‐team programs

## Required Qualifications

* **5–8 years** of overall IT experience

* **3+ years** of hands‐on experience as a **Scrum Master**

* Strong knowledge of **Scrum, Agile principles, and Lean concepts**

* Prior experience in **US Banking or Insurance domain**

* Experience working with **cross‐functional, distributed teams (onshore/offshore)**

* Proficiency with Agile tools: **JIRA, Confluence, Azure DevOps**

* Excellent communication, facilitation, and stakeholder management skills

## Preferred / Good‐to‐Have Skills

* Exposure to **Cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP)**

* Working knowledge of **Snowflake, data platforms, or analytics**

* Familiarity with **AI / ML project delivery** concepts

* Experience in **SAFe or other scaled Agile frameworks**

* Scrum Master certifications:

* **CSM / PSM I / SAFe Agilist**
