Senior QA Automation Engineer (Python)

We are looking for an experiencedSenior QA Automation Engineer to join an Agile development team working on a complex software solution with microservices, microfrontends, and multiple API integrations.

The role has a strong focus onPython-based test automation, API/integration testing, BDD, and automated test framework development.

• Design, implement, and maintain automated test cases and test scenarios.
• Develop automated tests primarily usingPython.
• Maintain and continuously improve aBDD test automation framework based on Behave.
• Perform API and integration testing, includinggRPC-based communication.
• UsePlaywright with Python for end-to-end and API testing.
• Create and maintain regression and smoke integration test suites.
• Analyze failed automated tests, investigate root causes, and create defects when appropriate.
• Develop and improve test clients, mocks, and supporting automation tools.
• Create and maintain test data and test environments.
• Review and improve existing test automation code.
• Collaborate closely with developers, Test Automation Engineers, and Software Requirement Leads.
• Analyze testability and challenge acceptance criteria where necessary.
• Execute automated tests locally and through CI/CD pipelines.
• Work with mocked APIs and hardware components as part of the testing environment.

• Strong hands-on experience withPython for test automation.
• Solid experience inTest Automation within Agile development teams.
• Strong experience withAPI and integration testing.
• Experience withProtocol Buffers and gRPC.
• Strong hands-on experience withDocker, ideally including Docker Compose.
• Experience designing, implementing, and maintaining automated test frameworks.
• Good understanding of test design, regression testing, and defect analysis.
• Experience with Git-based development workflows.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Good communication and collaboration skills.

Nice to have:

• Experience withBDD/TDD, ideally usingBehave.
• Experience withPlaywright using Python.
• Experience withGitLab and GitLab CI/CD pipelines.
• Experience with mocking services, APIs, or hardware components.
• Knowledge ofOPC UA.
• Experience withVS Code, WSL2, and DevContainers.
• Shell scripting experience.
