Aesir Interactive is an independent game development studio in Munich building ambitious titles for global audiences.
A significant part of our project financing comes from public funding programmes, in particular the German federal games funding (Games-Förderung des Bundes) and regional programmes. We are looking for a Junior Funding Assistant to support this work from the ground up. This is an entry-level position, and we are explicitly open to candidates coming straight from university. You will support our funding activities across all studio projects, from writing and assembling funding applications to keeping approved projects on track on the funding side.
You are the person who knows the current status of every application and every ongoing project, who keeps timelines and documentation up to date, and who makes sure that deadlines towards the funding body are never missed. You will work closely with our C-Level, the producers of the individual projects, and finance.
You do need to enjoy precise, structured, deadline-driven work with formal documents, and you need to be willing to learn a complex set of rules in depth.Funding Applications
  • Support the writing and assembly of funding applications: project descriptions, work packages, milestone plans, timelines, and the accompanying forms.
  • Research and prepare the input needed from project teams, and turn it into consistent, submission-ready documents.
  • Compile the formal attachments and keep application packages complete and version-clean up to submission.
  • Compile and structure follow-up questions from the funding body (Projektträger) together with the responsiblecolleagues, and track them through to a submitted answer.
Ongoing Funded Projects
  • Look after approved projects on the funding side over their full runtime: keep timelines, work package status, and milestone dates current.
  • Collect project updates from producers and leads and translate them into the format the funding body expects.
  • Prepare payment requests (Mittelabrufe) and the supportingdocumentation, and track their statusthrough to disbursement.
  • Flag deviations early: delays, scope changes, staffing changes, or budget shifts that need to be reported or approved.
Reporting
  • Prepare interim and final reports (Zwischennachweise,Zwischenberichte,Schlussberichte) for the funding body, including collecting and consolidating all input.
  • Prepare recurring status overviews on the funding portfolio for management.
  • Maintain the documentation required for later audits, and make sure records are complete and traceable at all times.
Coordination & Tracking
  • Keep the funding task board and deadline overview up to date, and remind the people involved of what is due.
  • Help us document and improve our funding processes and templates.

  • Completed degree, for example in business administration, economics, media management, cultural or public management, public administration, law, political science, or a comparable field. Graduates are welcome.
  • No professional experiencerequired. First experience through internships, working student positions, orthesis work in project management, administration, or a funding-related environment is a plus.
  • Very high attention to detail: you notice when a number, a date, or a version does not match, and you follow up on it.
  • Structured and reliable way of working, and the ability to keep track of several parallel topics and deadlines.
  • Confidence in dealing with formal documents, guidelines, and official communication, and the patience to read the fine print.
  • German at C2 level or native speaker. This is a hard requirement and not negotiable: applications, guidelines, reports, and all communication with the funding body are in German.
  • Very good English skills, as our project teams work in English.
  • A clear writer who can turn technical or creative project input into precise, readable prose.
  • A confident user of Microsoft Office, especially Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Comfortable working with shared documents, task boards, and templates. Experience with Teams, Jira, or Confluence is a plus.
  • Someone who asks when something is unclear instead of guessing, and who follows up until a topic isactually closed.
  • Genuinely interested in games and in how game development projects are planned and financed.

The setup:

  • The position isfixed-term for 12 months, with the intentionto continue the collaboration if the workload in our funding portfolio develops as expected.
  • Full-time or part-time, from 25 hours per week. Tell us in your application which model you are looking for.
  • You can workon-site in our Munich office, remotely, or in any mix of both. Occasional presence in Munich is helpful for onboarding and for topics that require physical attendance.
  • First contact with public fundingprogrammes on any level (federal, regional, or EU), on the applicant or the administrative side.
  • Basic understanding of budgets, cost plans, or project accounting.
  • Experience in the games industry or another project-based creative industry.
  • Interest in growing into full ownership of funding projects over time.
