ALTEN is looking for a Data Analyst to join our team and support a major programme within the aerospace sector.

This role will focus on transforming complex operational and business data into clear, meaningful insights that support decision-making and performance improvement. You will work with a range of stakeholders to understand reporting requirements, develop effective data solutions and improve the visibility and quality of key information across the programme.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Gather, analyse and interpret data from multiple sources to identifytrends, risks, gaps and improvement opportunities.
  • Develop and maintainreports, dashboards and performance indicators that provide stakeholders with clear visibility of business and operational performance.
  • Work closely with internal teams to understand their data requirements and translate these into effective analytical solutions.
  • Clean, validate and structure datasets to ensure information isaccurate, complete and reliable.
  • Monitor key performance measures and investigate areas where results differ from expected targets.
  • Present complex data in aclear and accessible format, enabling stakeholders to make informed decisions.
  • Identify opportunities to improve and automate existingreporting and data-analysis processes.
  • Support the development ofKPI frameworks and performance reporting across different business functions.
  • Perform detailed analysis to understand the root causes behind performance issues and provide actionable insights.
  • Collaborate with technical and non-technical stakeholders to improvedata quality, reporting consistency and data visibility.
  • Produce regular and ad-hoc analysis in response to programme and business requirements.
  • Contribute tocontinuous improvement initiatives by using data to identify inefficiencies and measure the impact of improvement actions.

Required Skills:

  • Previous professional experience working as aData Analyst, Business Data Analyst, Reporting Analyst or similar.within Aerospace 
  • Strong experience working withlarge and complex datasets.
  • Advanced knowledge ofMicrosoft Excel, including data manipulation, formulas, PivotTables and analytical functions.
  • Strong experience usingPower BI to develop dashboards, reports and data visualisations.
  • Experience usingSQL to extract, manipulate and analyse data.
  • Strong understanding ofdata cleansing, validation and data-quality principles.
  • Experience creating and monitoringKPIs and performance metrics.
  • Ability to translate raw data intomeaningful business insights and recommendations.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities with excellent attention to detail.
  • Confidence working with stakeholders to understand requirements and communicate analytical findings.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities and deliver accurate analysis within agreed deadlines.

Required Qualifications:

  • ABachelor’s orMaster’s degree inEngineering, or equivalent military experience.

Desirable Skills:

  • Previous experience withinaerospace, engineering, manufacturing or another complex industrial environment.
  • Knowledge ofPower Query and DAX.
  • Experience automating or streamlining recurring reporting activities.
  • Exposure toPython for data analysis would be advantageous.
  • Understanding of manufacturing, supply chain, quality or operational performance data.
  • Experience producing reports forsenior stakeholders and programme leadership.
  • Knowledge of continuous improvement methodologies and using data to support process
