Essential Job Functions:
- Follow SOLID principles and clean coding standards
- Write modular, reusable, and maintainable code
- Adhere to AEM component and backend development best practices
- Maintain proper separation of concerns across HTL, Sling Models, and services
- Use HTL/Sightly best practices—avoid business logic in HTML
- Implement defensive programming and proper exception handling
- Ensure thread safety where required (Schedulers, Services, Listeners)
- Optimize JCR queries and indexing for performance
- Follow secure coding practices; avoid hardcoded credentials and sanitize inputs
- Maintain consistent naming conventions and folder structures
- Write meaningful unit tests with sufficient coverage
- Optimize code for dispatcher caching and overall performance
- Document core logic, assumptions, and component behavior clearly
- Follow proper Git branching strategy with meaningful commit messages
- Conduct and participate in peer code reviews
- Overall Total Experience should be 7+ relevant
- Strong Java programming foundation
- Extensive hands-on workflows, Sling servlet, REST, JSON, Lucene indexing is must
- Exposure to Coral / Granite UI, Adobe UI customization is a must
- Deep understanding of AEM's security along with its Access Controls
- Expertise around extending AEM's core functionalities such as Launches
- Must have worked on AEM 6.4 or newer versions
- Working Experience with Sightly / Sling models
- Strong understanding of core AEM components such as Oak, Sling and Dispatcher
- Experience with Continuous Integration and Automated test execution and building tools such as Jenkins, Hudson, Selenium or Maven
- Work with project managers to ensure that all project deliverables are on time and high quality
- Work collaboratively with other teams; QA, UX, etc
- Exceptionally good at documenting and explaining core technical processes
- Other CMS experience and a good understanding of the DXP area
- Prior Apple experience is a strong plus
- Strong understanding of modern coding best practices
- Ability to write clean, scalable, and maintainable code following SOLID principles
- Hands-on experience with performance-optimized component development
- Strong focus on secure coding standards and input validation
- Experience performing peer code reviews and ensuring coding guideline adherence
- Ability to create clear technical documentation and reusable component libraries
- Skilled in debugging, troubleshooting, and optimizing AEM applications
