Overall purpose
The Services Engineer RAN/TRM drives the Telecom Installations, commissioning and integration process in the SWAP Project by coordinating all activities on customer sites from beginning till acceptance.
Responsibilities and Authorities
Roles & Responsibilities
The Service Engineer is responsible for, but not limited to:
- Extensive field work activities in order to ensure the project timeline and quality.
- Control Site Audit process
- Continuously update plan for specific single site together with Implementation mgr
- Configuration, commissioning and acceptance of Leading multinational in telecommunications RBS and MW equipment.
- Cutover of the network cluster and dismantle the old system and ensure material is returned to warehouse and document it.
- Decide to fallback the swap activity as per procedure.
- Collect and control quality of Site Audit Report, Site Installation documents, Site Drawings etc., including Execution documents during site installation process from subcontractors
- Solving on site problems including access and equipment and ASP team management.
- Supervising progress of Telecom Installation process; as per SID, RND, TND, Installation & Integration, Initial Tuning including Acceptance.
- Ensure that the sub-contractors’ installation staff works according to instructions given by Leading multinational in telecommunications
- Quality assurance of the Telecom Installation process awareness.
- Consult subcontractors of site related requirements including knowledge transfer.
- Inspection and sign off of work done by subcontractors.
- Control rectification of installation defects
- Collect Site documentation for Acceptance
- Coordinate and drive Acceptance
- Escalate problems to Implementation mgr
- Provide Implementation mgr with Provisional Acceptance Certificate for invoicing
- Continuously provide input for Site Handler through the Telecom Installation process
- Monitoring and reporting on subcontractor performance with respect to progress and quality to the Implementation mgr.
- Ensure that full compliance to OHS and required documentation is adhered to and submitted to the assigned CU GCP OHS diver.
- Manage subcontractors
- Commission, configure, integrate and cutover.
- Contact the local authorities.
- Implement the fallback procedure.

- External: ASP’s, External authorities:
- Customer interfaces are going through Implementation mgr and the RAN CPM
- Leading multinational in telecommunications and customer standards and procedures:
- Antenna & feeder installation
- Acceptance
- Document preparation and control
- Technical knowledge in RBS 6000 series and antenna systems
- Technical knowledge in Power- and Climate systems
- Battery Back up systems and power knowledge
- MLTN PDH/SDH MW including XPIC
- Sub-contractor management
- Good English communication skills

Required education and experience
At least 7 years of experience with GSM and/or WCDMA turn-key rollout projects.
