We are looking for an Advisor IT Data Network Operations & Support to help design, build, deploy, test, and support our enterprise network infrastructure.

 

In this role, you will apply your technical expertise across Cisco LAN/WAN/Wi-Fi environments while supporting network operations, automation, projects, and the Pre-Production Network Lab. You will also contribute to technology validation, proof-of-concept testing, and the continuous improvement of our network infrastructure.

Note: There are two positions available for this opportunity.

 

What You Will Do:

  • Provide operational support for enterprise network services, including incident response, troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and resolution of complex network issues.
  • Design, configure, deploy, test, and optimize large-scale Cisco LAN, WAN, Wi-Fi, and SD-WAN infrastructure, while supporting the integration of new technologies into existing network environments.
  • Support the Pre-Production Network Lab, including software, hardware, configuration, and design validation, as well as proof-of-concept and pre-deployment testing.
  • Develop automation solutions for routine network activities and support the use of automation and Infrastructure as Code tools to improve operational efficiency and consistency.
  • Provide technical expertise and guidance through SME groups, coordinate small team efforts, and participate in incident reviews, CAB and TAB meetings.
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation, including network designs, configuration standards, test plans, operational procedures, and implementation guides.
  • Identify and document network risks, support remediation activities, and collaborate with internal teams and vendors to ensure service quality and SLA compliance.

 

Who You Are:

  • University degree or two-year technical diploma in IT, Computer Science, Networking, Engineering, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 4+ years of demonstrated experience designing, building, deploying, testing, and supporting large-scale Cisco LAN/WAN/Wi-Fi infrastructure.
  • 5 or more years of related experience and relevant Cisco certifications, such as CCNA or higher, are preferred.
  • Strong hands-on knowledge of enterprise networking technologies and protocols, including Cisco routers, switches and wireless, Versa SD-WAN, BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, MPLS, VxLAN, VPC, VSS, and data centre networking technologies.
  • Experience with network QA, pre-deployment validation, structured testing, proof-of-concept initiatives, and network security practices, including technologies such as Cisco ISE, RADIUS, and TACACS.
  • Experience with network automation, scripting, and configuration management using technologies such as Python, Bash, PowerShell, Ansible, Terraform, Azure Bicep/ARM, GitOps, Cisco Catalyst Center, and Versa Director.
  • Familiar with cloud-native and DevOps technologies, including Azure, OCI, Google Cloud, Kubernetes, Docker, CI/CD, Agile, DevOps, and DevSecOps, along with monitoring tools such as SolarWinds, NetBox and Splunk.
  • Demonstrated strong systems thinking, problem-solving, troubleshooting, project coordination, and communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. Experience with ServiceNow and ITIL processes is an asset.

 

Working Conditions:

  • Typical Office environment.
  • The role may require infrequent travel within Canada and to the United States.
  • Participation in operational support activities and network implementations may occasionally require flexibility outside regular business hours.

 

Salary:

  • Ranges from $90,000 – $120,000 CAD for Ontario locations based upon candidate’s experience, skills, and internal equity.
  • Applicable compensation policies and guidelines apply to internal candidates.
