Job Summary
The Dual Credit Advisor supports the academic success, enrollment, and persistence of dual credit students
through comprehensive, student-centered advising. This position provides academic and enrollment advising to
high school students participating in the Dual Credit program and serves as a primary liaison between the college
and assigned high school partners. The Dual Credit Advisor works collaboratively with high school counselors,
faculty, and college departments to ensure students receive accurate guidance on admissions, registration,
academic pathways, and program completion.

Essential Functions
Advising and Student Support
- Advise dual credit students on course selection, registration, degree pathways, and program requirements
- Maintain a caseload of dual credit students from application through completion
- Conduct transcript audits and provide milestone advising ensuring students remain on track toward program completion
- Monitor student progress and proactively address academic or enrollment concerns
- Track and document advising interactions using advising software and institutional systems
- Apply coaching techniques aligned with the Midland College Pathways Advising model
- Track Early Alert notifications and coordinate referrals for tutoring, academic coaching, or other support services
- Provide transfer pathway advising to help students understand options beyond dual credit completion
High School Partnership Support
- Serve as the primary advising contact for assigned high schools and dual credit students
- Maintain strong relationships with high school counselors, principals, and administrators
- Serve as the main point of contact for high school counselors and principals regarding advising and student progress
- Manage high school relationships to ensure alignment with dual credit policies, academic pathways, and student success initiatives
- Provide guidance to students and families regarding admissions, testing, registration, and academic expectations
- Serve as a point of contact for parents and guardians, ensuring communication remains compliant with FERPA regulations
- Participate in high school visits and provide advising support to students at partner campuses when needed
- Represent the advising department at high school meetings, orientations, and campus events
Student Support
- Conduct senior exit reviews in collaboration with C3 support to confirm completion status and postsecondary plans
- Assist students in understanding degree progress, transfer pathways, and next steps after graduation
- Provide targeted advising for students approaching key milestones within the dual credit program
- Coordinate and facilitate student orientation sessions and advising events for dual credit students
Data and Compliance
- Maintain accurate advising records and documentation
- Assist in tracking advising and enrollment metrics to support student success, retention, and completion
- Ensure compliance with institutional, state, and dual credit program requirements
- Promote a student-first mentality by modeling professionalism, accountability, and proactive problem-solving
Additional Responsibilities

Qualifications
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution
- Strong computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
- Demonstrated interpersonal, communication, organizational, and leadership skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment
- Ability to interact effectively with students, parents/guardians, faculty, staff, and external partners
- Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and maintain attention to detail
- Ability to function effectively in a fast-paced environment with frequent interruptions
- Ability to research, interpret, and accurately communicate information related to admissions, enrollment, and academic pathways
- Excellent oral communication, customer service, and public relations skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree
- Higher Education advising experience
- Understanding of TSI regulations and Texas dual credit requirements
- One or more years of experience in an educational setting
- Experience working with Early College High School, dual credit, or homeschool populations
WORK ENVIRONMENT
- Typical office
- Business Hours
- M-Th 8:00 a.m.- 5:00 p.m. F 8:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.
- summer M-Th 7:30 a.m. – 5:30 pm
- Periodic evening and weekend hours during peak periods (e.g., open enrollment, payroll)
- Occasional travel (less than 10%)
Physical Demands
- Must be able to lift or move up to 25 pounds
- Must be able to sit or stand for long periods of time
- Use of manual dexterity
- Repetitive use of a keyboard at a workstation
- Travel for training, meetings, and events both in and out of town may be required
Salary Range:$48,402 - $64,64,545 annualized
