Position Summary
Walsh University is seeking a highly skilled Administrative Assistant to support programs within the College of Health Sciences. The Administrative Assistant will work closely with the Dean of the College of Health Sciences and the other Administrative Assistants to provide support toprograms, faculty, and students within the College of Health Sciences.
This is a full-time; 40-hour/week, fully on-campus role, where we do our work in community with colleagues, students, and campus partners. Â
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:
- Support for the Dean of the College of Health Sciences
- Support for multiple full-time and adjunct Faculty
- General office responsibilities
- Leads the program in planning for interviews, open house events, and other programmatic events while working in collaboration with the events planner for the University
- Assists in maintaining documentation and planning for accreditation visits
- Scheduling meetings and taking minutes
- Budget tracking and preparation of requisitions
- Communication with students and the ability to maintain confidentiality
- Submission of work orders and maintenance requests as well as IT help desk requests
- Collaboration with other campus departments
- Assistance with other responsibilities necessary to ensure smooth operation of the College of Health Sciences.
- Other duties as assigned or required.

Required Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)

Education:High School diploma required; Higher Education Degree is preferred.
Work Experience:Experience in a higher education academic environment strongly preferred but not required. 2 years of experience in an administrative assistant support role required.
Skills and abilities:
- Professional demeanor and ability to interact with charity towards students, staff and faculty. Positive attitude a must.
- Excellent organizational skills with strong attention to detail
- Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills
- Professional presentation and demeanor
- Ability to maintain confidentiality with sensitive materials
- Strong aptitude with Microsoft Office applications; familiarity with Centralized Application Service (CAS)systems and other electronic database programs is a strong plus
- Ability to prioritize duties/tasks
- Ability to track and meet deadlines
- Ability to manage data
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with diverse personalities within the various programs within the College and across the Institution
- Ability to work with minimal supervision

- Physical requirements of the job include prolonged sitting, extended periods of keyboard work and use of a computer monitor, some walking, frequent interruptions, occasional lifting and carrying objects no more than 25 pounds.

- Normal day-to-day functions include sitting, standing, and walking -- between offices and campus buildings.
