Program Description:
Marsha’s house is a shelter for 81 homeless men and women who identify as part of the LGBTQ community. The shelter is in the Belmont section of the Bronx.

Overall Responsibilities:
Under the direction of the Shelter Director with some latitude for independent action, the Administrative Assistant is responsible for performing a myriad of administrative duties to assist the Director in the achievement of the goals and objectives of the program; performs related work.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
The essential duties of the Administrative Assistant include but are not limited to the following activities:
- Performs administrative support to the Shelter Director, as well as the supervisory staff of the social services and operations departments
- Processes petty cash reimbursement
- Manages the Paycom system for the shelter
- Process all paperwork for personnel actions, including new hires, separated staff, recruitment flyers, and related matters
- Organizes and maintains a proper filing system for the office
- Performs other duties as assigned by the Shelter Directors
- Available to work in the evenings and on weekends when necessary
- Orders supplies, and assists in inventorying and tracking deliveries of supplies

Qualifications:
- Associate degree and work experience as described below.
- A minimum of three (3) years of experience working in a nonprofit or government organization performing responsible clerical administrative work.
- High school diploma or GED and work experience as described in item #2 below.
- Minimum of five (5) years of experience working in a nonprofit or government organization performing responsible clerical administrative work.
