JOB TITLE:Strategic Researcher

LOCATION:Jakarta

CONTRACT TYPE:Permanent, full-time

REPORTING TO:Marketing & Strategy Manager


PURPOSE OF THE ROLE

The Strategic Researcher will provide targeted research and insight to support business development, client work and project initiatives. The role will identify, evaluate and interpret relevant market, industry and competitor information, helping teams make informed decisions and develop effective strategic recommendations.


Working closely with the Business Development & Strategy team, the successful candidate will contribute research to RFPs and proposals, prepare competitor and benchmarking analysis, support basic data analysis and maintain reliable research resources. This is an opportunity for a curious and organised researcher to strengthen the quality, speed and consistency of insight across a growing team.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Conduct targeted market, industry and competitor research for business development, client and internal projects.
  • Support Business Leads in compiling accurate and relevant research for RFP responses, proposals and presentations.
  • Analyse qualitative and quantitative information, identify meaningful trends and translate findings into clear, practical insights.
  • Prepare competitor analysis and benchmarking reports that inform strategy development and decision-making.
  • Provide basic data analysis to support client work, internal planning and business-development activity.
  • Maintain an organised database of trusted research sources, industry reports and reference materials, keeping information current and accessible.
  • Produce concise research summaries, reports and presentation materials tailored to the needs of internal stakeholders.
  • Verify sources and review data carefully to maintain accuracy, relevance and consistency across research outputs.
  • Manage multiple research requests and deadlines, prioritising work effectively and communicating progress or risks early.
  • Collaborate with colleagues across the Business Development & Strategy team, respond constructively to feedback and connect research findings to wider business objectives.


QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree in Market Research, Business, Economics, Marketing, Social Sciences or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 2-4 years of experience in research, insights, market intelligence or a related analytical role, ideally supporting business development, strategy or client projects.
  • Strong research and analytical skills, with the ability to identify, assess and interpret relevant market and industry information.
  • Experience preparing competitor analysis, benchmarking reports, research summaries or similar insight-led outputs.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel; experience with Power BI or similar data-analysis tools would be advantageous.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present findings clearly to different stakeholders.
  • Strong attention to detail and a disciplined approach to source verification, data accuracy and document quality.
  • Effective organisational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
  • A curious, proactive and self-directed approach, combined with the ability to collaborate effectively and respond positively to feedback.
  • Adaptability and cultural awareness when working in a fast-paced, multicultural environment.
  • A strategic mindset and the ability to connect research findings to business objectives and practical recommendations.
