Description
The Manager, Accounts Payable and Receivable is responsible for leading the organization's integrated accounts payable and accounts receivable functions to ensure financial accuracy, operational efficiency, and compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements. This role oversees end-to-end transaction processing, cash disbursements, customer invoicing, collections, and account reconciliations while maintaining a strong control environment. The position partners closely with Finance, Procurement, Commercial, and Operations leaders to optimize cash flow, improve financial processes, and support business growth. The Manager drives process standardization, automation initiatives, and continuous improvement efforts while developing a high-performing team and ensuring scalable financial operations.
Requirements
- Lead the day-to-day operations of Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable, ensuring accurate, timely, and compliant processing of financial transactions.
- Establish, implement, and maintain policies, procedures, and internal controls governing payables and receivables activities.
- Oversee vendor payments, employee reimbursements, customer billing, collections, cash applications, and account reconciliations.
- Monitor cash flow drivers and working capital metrics, proactively identifying risks and opportunities for improvement.
- Partner with Procurement, Commercial, Operations, and Finance stakeholders to resolve transaction issues and improve end-to-end financial processes.
- Ensure compliance with applicable accounting standards, company policies, and regulatory requirements related to AP and AR activities.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for internal and external audits involving accounts payable, accounts receivable, and related financial controls.
- Develop and track key performance indicators, aging reports, exception trends, and service-level metrics to drive operational excellence.
- Lead process improvement and automation initiatives to enhance efficiency, scalability, data quality, and user experience.
- Recruit, develop, coach, and manage Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable team members while fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
- Typically requires 9+ years of progressive experience in accounting, finance operations, or shared services environments.
- Minimum 3+ years of leadership experience managing Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, or related transactional finance teams.
- Demonstrated expertise in cash management, financial controls, reconciliations, and compliance frameworks.
- Experience supporting internal and external audits, regulatory reviews, and control testing activities.
- Proven ability to lead cross-functional initiatives, influence stakeholders, and implement process improvement or automation solutions.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field required.
- CPA, CMA, or other relevant professional certification preferred.
