Overview of the Firm

FGS Global helps the world's most influential leaders move minds and markets. Working where business, government, and public opinion intersect, we advise CEOs, boards, and leadership teams at the most consequential moments.

We work as one team across geographies and disciplines - bringing together specialists with backgrounds in communications, finance, law, government, journalism, data science, and digital. Whatever the moment demands, we combine multidimensional perspectives to help leaders anticipate what's next, engage the stakeholders who matter, and drive meaningful outcomes.

Across 31 global offices, we draw on the full depth of the firm so clients can operate with clarity, act with confidence, and lead with trust. This collaborative approach has established FGS as a market leader: we are consistently ranked Band 1 for Crisis & Risk Management and Litigation Support by Chambers and Partners, and were ranked the #1 Global M&A PR firm by deal value and deal count for four consecutive years (Mergermarket, 2025).

The Role

We are seeking an experienced and hands-on Accounting Manager to join our Asia finance team in Hong Kong. Reporting to the Head of Finance, Asia, and working closely with the Finance Operations Senior Manager, this role plays a key part in the accounting operations of the firm across the Hong Kong, Singapore, and China entities, with key responsibility for the month-end close, financial reporting, and tax compliance, as well as supporting the statutory and group audits. The role places a strong focus on income statement analysis to provide insight into revenue and cost performance.

The ideal candidate will be a qualified accountant who combines strong technical knowledge with a hands-on approach, takes accountability for their deliverables, and communicates clearly with senior internal and external stakeholders. They will be comfortable operating in a fast-paced professional services environment and contributing to continuous improvement in processes and controls. Experience with VAT/GST filing across Singapore and China jurisdictions will be highly regarded.

Responsibilities

  • Work closely with the Finance Operations Senior Manager on month-end close, audits, and process improvements, ensuring alignment across the Asia finance function.
  • Act as a key member to perform the month-end closing, including revenue recognition, accruals, and balance sheet reconciliations, ensuring accurate and compliant accounting treatment.
  • Perform detailed monthly income statement analysis, explaining revenue and cost movements against prior periods, budget and forecast, and identifying trends, anomalies and risks.
  • Ensure departmental costs are accurately recorded, coded, and allocated to the correct cost centres, reviewing cost reports and resolving variances with budget holders on a timely basis.
  • Review and deliver monthly, quarterly, and annual financial and management reports, providing analysis and commentary on key variances to the Head of Finance and regional leadership.
  • Support the statutory and group audit processes together with Finance Operations Senior Manager.
  • Manage tax filing obligations across Hong Kong, Singapore, and China, including GST/VAT compliance, corporate income tax, and withholding tax matters, and liaise with external tax advisers.
  • Partner with operational teams on cost budgeting and reforecasting to support business to drive cost control.
  • Proactively identify opportunities to drive cost optimisation, analysing spending trends and recommending practical cost-saving initiatives to the Head of Finance and business leaders.
  • Partner with global finance teams and external service providers on group reporting, intercompany, and consolidation matters.
  • Maintain and strengthen internal controls and accounting policies, and drive process and system improvements to enhance efficiency in the Asia finance function.
  • Support ad hoc finance projects as required.

Desired Skills & Qualities

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related discipline from a recognised university.
  • A recognised professional accounting qualification (e.g. HKICPA, ACCA, CPA) is required.
  • Over 10 years of relevant accounting experience, preferably in a professional services or multinational environment. Audit firm experience is an advantage.
  • Solid technical accounting knowledge, with experience applying US GAAP and/or IFRS/HKFRS.
  • Strong analytical skills with a proven track record in income statement analysis, able to translate financial results into clear, actionable insights for business leaders.
  • Proven experience supporting statutory audits and managing tax filings across multiple jurisdictions; familiarity with Singapore GST and China VAT filing will be highly considered.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel; experience with ERP or accounting systems such as NetSuite is strongly preferred.
  • Strong team player, with the ability to guide and support junior team members.
  • Hands-on, highly organised, and able to manage competing priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced and dynamic working environment.
  • Treasury experience is a plus but it is NOT a must.
  • Proactive, with excellent interpersonal and communication skills and the confidence to engage senior stakeholders, auditors, and advisers.
  • Fluency in written and spoken English and Cantonese is preferred; Mandarin proficiency is an advantage.
