Job Title: Accounting Assistant

Job Summary:
Teddy Accounting Services PLLC, a growing CPA firm in Seattle, is seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Accounting Assistant to join our team full-time. This role supports the CPA with day-to-day accounting operations, client bookkeeping, payroll processing, and administrative tasks. The ideal candidate has strong organizational skills, a solid understanding of basic accounting principles, and an interest in growing within a public accounting environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist withclient bookkeeping, including data entry and maintaining general ledgers
- Reconcilebank and credit card statements for multiple clients
- Processaccounts payable and receivable and assist with invoicing and collections
- Support the CPA withtax preparation by organizing client documents and entering financial data
- Handlepayroll processing for clients, including calculating hours, entering employee data, ensuring tax compliance, and generating payroll reports
- File payroll-related tax forms and ensure timely payment of federal and state payroll taxes
- Maintain accurate and up-to-dateclient records in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Gusto, or ADP)
- Communicate with clients to collect missing information or resolve routine inquiries
- Assist with filing forms such as1099s, W-2s, and payroll summaries
- Provideadministrative support and maintain confidentiality of financial and personnel records
Qualifications:
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (or in progress)
- 1+ year of experience in accounting, bookkeeping, or payroll (preferably in a CPA or small business environment)
- Proficiency inMicrosoft Excel and accounting/payroll software (QuickBooks and Gusto preferred)
- Strong attention to detail, time management, and organizational skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
- Ability to work independently and maintain confidentiality
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with multi-client payroll and basic HR reporting
- Familiarity with federal and Washington state payroll tax requirements
- Prior experience in a public accounting or tax firm
- Ability to manage deadlines during peak tax and payroll reporting seasons
