Pay From: $75,000 per year
MUST:
Experience Senior Accountant
7+ years of accounting experience with at least 4 full years of experience working in government contracting
Well-rounded experience across various accounting roles (AR AP Payroll etc)
Strong experience with government contract accounting systems such as Unanet or Deltek (GCS Premier or Costpoint)
Comprehensive knowledge of GAAP and extensive knowledge of FAR
Intermediate to advanced Excel skills
Strong communication, troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
Go getter attitude -someone willing to take on assignments that need more attention
Ability to present ideas for process improvement to internal management
CPA certification is a plus
Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Math or another related field is required
DUTIES:
Ideal Senior Account will report directly to the CFO and step in to help out where they are needed
When necessary, this candidate will help identify problems and areas for improvement and will work with leadership to identify/create solutions for fixing it when a problem arrives
Reviews and performs reconciliations of balance sheet accounts and makes necessary adjustments ahead of month end close
Supports and helps lead the month end close process
Performs or oversees fixed asset accounting, accounts payable and payroll accounting
Prepares project financial status reports for leadership and Project Managers
Identifies, researches and resolves accounting issues; traces discrepancies and maintains supporting documentation
Assists in developing, implementing and monitoring accounting policies and procedures
Performs complex calculations and analysis in Excel
Protects confidential financial information
Supports special projects to help the Accounting/Finance team run efficiently
Performs other duties as assigned
