Accountant in Cash Accounting team

Job Description

Circle K Business Centre in Riga, Latvia is looking for:

Accountant in Cash Reconciliation team (Operational accounting)

Type of Employment:Permanent

Location: Riga, Latvia

Visa requirements: A valid work permit from the EU/EEA

WHAT YOU'LL DO

• Reconcile daily cash sales recorded in the finance system against bank statements and cash collection records.
• Investigate and resolve discrepancies between recorded cash sales, cash collected by cash-in-transit providers, and amounts credited to bank accounts.
• Ensure the accurate and timely allocation of bank receipts to the relevant cash sales, collection records, and general ledger accounts.
• Monitor cash-in-transit balances and outstanding deposits to ensure that all expected cash collections are received and accounted for.
• Identify, analyze, and follow up on missing, delayed, duplicate, or incorrect cash deposits.
• Liaise with banks, cash collection providers, local business units, and internal finance teams to investigate and resolve cash discrepancies.

WHAT YOU'LL NEED 

• Degree in accounting, economics or finance field;
• Previous experience in accounting, finance or audit field;
• Excellent knowledge of MS Office and willingness to learn new systems;
• Excellent organizing abilities and attention to details;
• Ability to work independently;
• Ability to analyze things, and conduct investigations on discrepancies;
• Fluent English language skills(both – oral and written) to communicate with colleagues in Europe.
