Senior/Lead Python AI Engineer

We are seeking aSenior/Lead Python AI Engineer to build a new planning application — the planning surface sitting on top of our existing agentic forecasting engine. In this full-stack role, you will design a high-density, Excel-like planning experience for enterprise users, integrate it with our forecasting engine and LLM tooling, and collaborate directly with planners across multiple markets to shape a product that reflects real-world planning workflows.

Responsibilities

• Build a high-density, editable grid UI using AG Grid (Enterprise) or equivalent, with virtualization, inline editing, Excel-style copy/paste, and undo functionality
• Implement hierarchy and aggregation logic across product × market × time, including aggregation, disaggregation, and scenario versioning
• Design and maintain full override lineage — tracking who changed what, when, and why
• Develop backend services in Python with FastAPI to share a common language with the forecasting engine
• Architect and operate a transactional override store alongside a read-heavy analytical data layer
• Integrate LLM application capabilities, including streaming responses, tool/function calling, and session state management
• Deliver enterprise-grade deployments on AWS using ECS/EKS, RDS, and S3
• Implement Okta OIDC integration with group claims driving row-level authorization
• Manage infrastructure as code with Terraform, along with CI/CD pipelines and observability tooling
• Engage directly with planners across multiple markets to surface requirements that are currently undocumented
• Translate stakeholder conversations into product decisions rather than working solely from a written backlog

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience as a full-stack or backend engineer building enterprise data applications
• Proven expertise in Grid UI (Excel-like) applications
• Proficiency in Python, with hands-on background in FastAPI for backend service development
• Strong SQL skills, including experience running transactional stores alongside analytical layers
• Competency in Gen AI application development, including LLM integration patterns such as streaming, tool calling, and session state
• Expertise in AWS services, including ECS/EKS, RDS, and S3, with Okta OIDC federated identity
• Skills in infrastructure as code using Terraform, CI/CD, and observability
• Familiarity with Grid Style Sheets and modern grid virtualization techniques
• Capability to engage directly with business stakeholders and translate ambiguous needs into shipped features
• English proficiency at an Upper-Intermediate level (B2) or higher

Nice to have

• Understanding of Large Language Models (LLMs) and their application in enterprise planning or forecasting contexts
• Background in agentic AI systems or forecasting engines
• Familiarity with planning platforms such as Anaplan or similar enterprise planning tools
