Plant Fitter

An experienced Plant Fitter / Welder is required to maintain, service and repair a fleet of

heavy construction plant and commercial vehicles. The role involves workshop and on-site

maintenance together with fabrication and welding work to ensure equipment remains

operational.

Key Responsibilities

• Service, maintain and repair heavy plant machinery

• Diagnose mechanical and hydraulic faults

• Carry out preventative maintenance and inspections

• Perform MIG, MMA and general fabrication welding

• Repair and maintain excavators, dumpers and lorries

• Replace worn or damaged components

• Complete maintenance records and service reports

• Ensure all work is completed safely and to a high standard

Essential Requirements

• Previous experience as a Plant Fitter

• Strong welding and fabrication skills

• Excellent knowledge of excavators, dumpers and heavy plant

• Experience maintaining commercial vehicles and lorries

• Ability to diagnose hydraulic, diesel and mechanical faults

• Strong problem-solving skills

• Good understanding of construction plant maintenance and health & safety

procedures
