If you are passionate about inspiring others and eager to pursue a career in Personal Training, the Equinox Coaching Foundations Program offers a comprehensive pathway to begin your coaching career with us.Â
As part of our commitment to developing the next generation of Equinox Coaches, we provide the Equinox Coaching Foundations Program, a hybrid, 2 week learning experience designed to help aspiring Coaches earn their ISSA Certified Personal Trainer (ISSA CPT) credential.Â
In our effort to support you in this endeavor, Equinox will cover the entirety of the certification cost, Including study hours. Â
Program OverviewÂ
The EQX Coaching Foundations Program spans 10 working days, consisting of:Â
5 hours of live virtual workshopsÂ
3 discussion boardsÂ
2 practice assessmentsÂ
1 accredited ISSACPT final examÂ
This hybrid learning model includes virtual instruction, self paced study, and multiple learning environments supported by our PT Educators.Â
If you do not yet have your CPR/AED certification, you will complete this during the program as well.Â

Program CommitmentÂ
Participants will complete the Foundations curriculum with a 2.5 hour commitment per day across 10 working days, working closely with EFTI Operators and PT Educators who oversee the program.Â
Upon successfully completing the Foundations Program and passing the ISSACPT final exam, you will:Â
Earn your ISSA Certified Personal Trainer credentialÂ
Complete required CPR/AED certification (if applicable)Â
Participants are hired as a Provisional Coach with Equinox. Upon successful completion of the Foundations Program and passing the ISSA‑CPT exam, you will be promoted into the full‑time Coach position at Equinox.Â
Role ExpectationsÂ
Complete all coursework, workshops, assessments, and study requirements within the 2week program timeframe to be conducted onsite at an Equinox location.Â
Demonstrate comprehensive understanding of ISSA and Equinox Coaching Foundations contentÂ
Apply principles of exercise science, coaching communication, program design, and client assessmentÂ
Uphold Equinox brand standards and deliver exceptional member experiencesÂ
Continue professional development as you transition into the Coach roleÂ
QualificationsÂ
Ability to complete the 2 week Foundations ProgramÂ
Commitment to pursuing a Personal Trainer/Coach career with EquinoxÂ
Strong passion for fitness, coaching, and growthÂ
Ability to work in person on weekdays and weekendsÂ
Strong verbal and written communication skillsÂ
Time management, organization, and basic computer proficiencyÂ
Energetic, friendly, punctual, and respectfulÂ
