SECTION I: Job Summary
The QC Inspector – Piping (UG) performs inspection and testing of underground piping installation activities, including trenching, bedding, coating, and backfill, to verify compliance with drawings, specifications, and applicable codes.
SECTION II: Job Analysis
Duties & Responsibilities
·        Perform in-process and final inspections on underground piping installation works.
·        Witness trench excavation, pipe bedding, coating/wrapping, and backfill activities per the ITP.
·        Verify underground pipe alignment, depth, and joint integrity against approved drawings.
·        Witness hydrotests, holiday testing (coating integrity), and cathodic protection checks as required.
·        Verify materials (pipe, coating, bedding material) against material certificates and specifications.
·        Record inspection results and raise Non-Conformance Reports as required.
·        Coordinate hold points and inspections with client/third-party inspectors prior to backfill.
·        Maintain inspection records, checklists, and daily QC reports.
·        Verify calibration status of measuring and test equipment used on site.
·        Support punch-list generation and verification of closure for underground piping works.
·        Support preparation of quality documentation for underground piping handover dossiers.

Experience
·         5–8 years of experience as a QC Inspector on underground piping/utilities construction projects.
Education
·         Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Mechanical/Civil Engineering.
·         QC/inspection certification preferred.
