Strata-G is seeking motivated, forward-thinking college students to join our team for the2027 Summer Internship Program. As an intern, you will work alongside experienced mentors on real-world projects that support our technical clients.

Internship Tracks & Responsibilities

Candidates will select or be assigned to a specific track based on their academic discipline and career goals and current client and project needs. Internship responsibilities may vary based on project availability and organizational priorities.

1. Engineering & Infrastructure Track

  • Disciplines: Chemical Engineering, Civil / Structural Engineering, Construction Management, Electrical / I&C Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Facilities Management, Fire Protection Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Materials Science Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Nuclear Engineering, Process Engineering, Systems Engineering, or other related fields.
  • Responsibilities:
    • Support engineering design, calculations, modeling, technical analysis, conceptual design, and facility or infrastructure planning using software or specialized simulation tools.
    • Assist in reviewing blueprints, survey data, and technical specifications for nuclear, environmental, facility, construction, or utility infrastructure projects.
    • Participate in real-time engineering troubleshooting, data analysis, and structural or process evaluations.
    • Work closely with senior engineers and technical professionals to prepare documentation in accordance with applicable client, quality, and regulatory requirements.
    • Support construction oversight, facilities management, modernization, or other infrastructure-related project needs.

2. Project Management Track

  • Disciplines: Business Administration, Construction Management, Contract Management / Acquisition, Engineering Management, Finance, Industrial Engineering, Operations Management, Risk Management, or related fields.
  • Responsibilities:
    • ShadowStrata-G Project Managers (including certified PMPs) throughout the lifecycle of complex federal and commercial projects.
    • Assist in organizing project resources, maintaining stakeholder coordination, and monitoring risk mitigation logs and action items.
    • Support the documentation of project changes, performance reporting, process improvement efforts, quality management reviews, and meeting agendas.
    • Assist with project planning, coordination, cost and schedule activities, and client reporting as needed.

3. Environmental, Safety, & Health (ES&H) & Compliance Track

  • Disciplines: Biology, Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, Geology / Geoscience, Industrial Hygiene, Occupational Health & Safety, Transportation & Logistics, Waste Management, Water Resources, or other related fields.
  • Responsibilities:
    • Support regulatory compliance initiatives, waste management activities, as well as environmental sampling, data collection, characterization, and cleanup strategy tracking.
    • Assist in implementing field safety protocols and monitoring compliance with federal regulations and client-specific requirements.
    • Participate in safety inspections, job hazard analyses, and the review of operational procedures.
    • Support environmental and regulatory documentation, transportation and logistics activities, waste programs, and other compliance-related project needs.

4. Project Controls Track

  • Disciplines: Accounting, Business Analytics, Construction Management, Economics, Engineering Management, Finance, Industrial Engineering, Operations Management, or other related fields.
  • Responsibilities:
    • Assist with work planning, integrated master scheduling (IMS), and cost-estimating activities.
    • Gain exposure to project controls software, including Primavera 6, and Earned Value Management (EVM) frameworks.
    • Help compile data for tracking project cost, schedule, labor, performance metrics, forecasts, and client dashboards.
    • Support reporting, cost reviews, schedule updates, and other project controls activities that help teams monitor project performance.

5. Nuclear & Quality Track

  • Disciplines:Applied Physics, Chemical Engineering / Chemistry, Electrical Engineering, Health Physics / Radiological Science, Industrial Engineering, Materials Science / Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Nuclear Engineering, Safety Oversight, Systems Engineering, Quality Assurance / Control, or other related fields.
  • Responsibilities may include:
    • Support nuclear operations, quality assurance and control, technical research, and project-specific documentation.
    • Assist with data analysis, procedure and document reviews, quality program activities, and technical evaluations.
    • Gain exposure to work performed in highly regulated nuclear and high-hazard environments.
    • Work alongside experienced nuclear, quality, engineering, and technical professionals supporting complex client missions.

6. Administrative & Corporate Support Track

  • Disciplines: Accounting, Business Management, Communications, Cybersecurity, Finance, Information Systems, Information Technology, Operations Management, Technical Writing, Proposal Support, or other related fields.
  • Responsibilities:
    • Support HR processes, including talent acquisition tracking and student outreach or recruiting initiatives.
    • Assist with internal communications, technical document formatting, marketing and outreach activities, and general office operational coordination.
    • Help manage digital tracking sheets, filing systems, data organization, and procurement administration logistics.
    • Support additional corporate or mission-support functions based on organizational needs.

General Qualifications

  • Academic Enrollment: Must be currently enrolled in an accredited undergraduate or graduate degree program in a field corresponding to the selected track.
  • Academic Standing: Maintaining a minimum GPA of 3.0 or higher is preferred.
  • Citizenship: U.S. Citizenship is required due to the federal scope of project deliverables.
  • Skills: Strong written and verbal communication skills, proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, and a proactive, collaborative mindset.
  • Clearance: Willingness and eligibility to undergo background verification for a security clearance if assigned to sensitive projects.
