The Opportunity:
As the4-H Extension Coordinator forWashington State University (WSU) Extension, you will provide leadership and oversight for the 4-H Youth Development Program in Mason County, including volunteer management, community outreach, and programming that serves youth both within and outside of the traditional 4-H club system. You will develop and implement programs and activities in accordance with WSU Extension policies and procedures under the direction of the 4-H Youth Development Faculty and the State 4-H Associate Director. In this role, you will actively engage with the community by attending and participating in events throughout Mason County and the surrounding region. This includes transporting equipment, supplies, and materials necessary to support 4-H programs and activities. You will also provide backup administrative and office support to the Office Manager as needed.

This is afull time (100% FTE),temporary position. This position is overtimeeligible.
Temporary End Date:This is a temporary position expected to end onDecember 31, 2027. Renewal is dependent on the need for extension and/or if additional funding is secured to extend employment.
Monthly Salary: $3,900.88 - $4,757.16 |Commensurate with experience and qualifications
In accordance withRCW 49.58.110, the above salary reflects the full salary range for this position. Individual placement within the range is based on the candidate’s current experience, education, skills, and abilities related to the position.

Required Qualifications:
- A Bachelor’s degree in a relevant extension program discipline and two (2) years of related program experience. Any combination of relevant education and experience may be substituted for the educational requirement on a year-for-year basis.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook; demonstrated work experience using these programs.
- Must have, or be able to obtain by time of hire, a valid driver’s license and meet requirements in accordance withSPPM 7.10 and departmental driving standards.
- Ability to work flexible work hours that include frequent evenings and weekends.
- Ability to work year around in a variety of outdoor weather conditions.
- Competency in using electronic communication methods and equipment for extension education and daily work activities.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in volunteer management (i.e. recruitment, placement, education and recognition) and volunteerism.
- Knowledge of, and/or experience with, 4-H youth development programs. Experience and ability to work as a team member with staff and volunteers.
- Strong demonstrated written skills requiring limited editing and supervision in preparing reports, evaluations, press releases, synthesis of a broad range of materials, and effective written conveyance of program information to the public and program participants.
- Experience developing curriculum.
- Strong demonstrated verbal communication and listening skills: public speaking, effective conveyance of program information to the public, program participants, and decision-makers.
- Experience working/collaborating with multiple public agencies, NGOs, and individuals in partnerships.
- Experience in leadership, and the ability to work and think independently.
- Knowledge of, and/or experience with, program assessment and evaluation.
- Familiarity with social media.
