Internship:Â Actuarial AnalystÂ
Location:New York, NY/Edina, MN
Salary:Up to$30/hr(+anadditional$1 per passed exam) + overtimeÂ

IntroductionÂ
You’lljoinan energetic, quantitative, client-facing team that specializes in creating and executing P&C reserve solutions including creating client submissions, working on loss portfolio transfers, and capital modeling. The team is small but diverse with unlimitedopportunity to learn, advance, and take on responsibility.Â
Whatyou’ll be doingÂ
Reinsurance is a complexworld, the easiest way to think about it is thatit’s insurance for the insurers.Working with ourteamsyou’ll help insurance companiesprotect their futures, and the people they insure.Â
You’ll work across analytics, brokers, and other functions toidentify and respond to client needs and developadditional opportunities related to products and services. Onceyou’vecollected the data,manipulated it in spreadsheets and other database applications,you’ll then prepare client-ready presentations to communicate analysis results to brokers and clients.Â
Inadditionyou’ll also:Â
Understand reinsurance contracts and products (terminology,terms and conditions)Â
Manage workflow proactively and take initiative on internal projects to improve processes,products or servicesÂ
Take ownership and responsibility for quality,accuracy andtimely completion of analysesÂ
Willingness to be part of Howden Re’s “Team First” culture and to offer help to others without promptingÂ
Whowe’re looking forÂ
You’ll be actively pursuing a bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university with a 3.0 or higher graduating GPA;anadvanced degreewould be nice, but not arequirement.Â
You will:Â
Beactivelypursuing abachelor's degree from a four-year college or university with aGPA of3.0 or higherÂ
Be a rising senior (graduating in December 2027 or by June 2028)
Be proficient in Excel, Word, and PowerPointÂ
Payclose attention todetail, because every small detail mattersÂ
Legally authorized to work in the USÂ

Advanced degreeÂ
Experience in the (re)insurance industryÂ
Completion of Actuarial exam(s) or be actively studying for an examÂ
