Therapist – Join a Practice Where You Can Do Great Work and Actually Enjoy Where You Work
You became a therapist to work with people—not to spend your days worrying about finding clients, figuring out billing, or navigating a chaotic workplace.
At Elevate Counseling + Wellness, we’ve built a modern group practice where therapists can focus on what they do best: connecting with clients and doing meaningful clinical work.
We’re a growing, collaborative practice with locations in Chicago, Westmont, and Oak Park, and we’re looking for therapists who want the support and community of a group practice while still having room to develop their own clinical style.
We take our work seriously—but we don’t believe everything at work has to feel serious.
You’ll find smart, caring colleagues, approachable leadership, strong administrative support, opportunities to learn and grow, and a team that genuinely enjoys working together.
What It’s Like to Work at Elevate
We want therapists to have the best of both worlds:Â the independence of private practice with the support of a strong team behind you.
That means:
- A steady stream of client referrals and support building a consistent caseload
- An administrative team that handles the behind-the-scenes details so you can focus on your clients
- Colleagues you can actually talk to, consult with, and learn from
- Leadership that is accessible and invested in making the practice a great place to work
- Supervision, consultation, training, and professional development opportunities
- Clear expectations without micromanagement
- The freedom to bring your own personality and clinical style to your work
- A workplace that values connection, collaboration, humor, and being human
We’re big enough to offer strong infrastructure, resources, and opportunities—but still committed to creating the kind of practice where people know each other and feel part of something.
You Might Be a Great Fit If You…
- Really enjoy being a therapist and care deeply about your clients
- Value strong therapeutic relationships and ethical, high-quality care
- Like having autonomy but don’t want to practice on an island
- Enjoy being around other clinicians and are open to collaboration and consultation
- Communicate well and follow through on the things your clients and teammates depend on
- Are curious, reflective, and interested in continuing to grow as a clinician
- Appreciate an organized practice where expectations are clear and support is readily available
We welcome clinicians from diverse backgrounds, identities, experiences, and theoretical orientations. There is no single “Elevate therapist” personality or treatment approach—we want clinicians to bring their own strengths to the work.
About the Role
Our therapists provide outpatient psychotherapy with teens, adults, and/or couples—and you tell us which populations you prefer to work with.
We’re interested in both newer clinicians who are excited to deepen their skills and experienced therapists looking for a long-term professional home.
Your level of experience will help shape the support, consultation, and development opportunities we provide.
What You’ll Do
- Provide individual and/or couples psychotherapy based on your areas of interest
- Build meaningful, ongoing relationships with clients
- Maintain a consistent caseload
- Collaborate and consult with other clinicians when helpful
- Continue developing your clinical skills and areas of specialty
- Complete timely, clinically appropriate documentation
- Be a reliable and engaged member of the Elevate team
Caseload Expectations
We believe clarity around caseload expectations is important—and we want therapists to know what the role looks like before they join us.
Full-time therapists: Rolling average of 22 client sessions per week
Part-time therapists: Rolling average of 16 client sessions per week
Our intake, marketing, and administrative teams work behind the scenes to help therapists build and maintain consistent caseloads. You’re not expected to become your own marketer, biller, scheduler, and therapist all at once.
What We’re Looking For
- Master’s or Doctoral degree in Counseling, Social Work, Psychology, Marriage & Family Therapy, or a related field
- Active Illinois license or license-eligible credential:Â LPC, LCPC, LSW, LCSW, MFT, LMFT, PsyD, or PhD
- Experience providing psychotherapy in an outpatient, agency, or private practice setting
- Comfort using an electronic health record and providing telehealth services when appropriate
- Most importantly: warmth, good judgment, professionalism, curiosity, and a genuine interest in doing excellent clinical work
Compensation & Benefits
We want Elevate to be a place where therapists can build sustainable, long-term careers.
Benefits include:
- Competitive compensation
- Health, dental, and vision insurance
- 401(k) with employer match
- Paid time off
- Paid holidays
- CEU support
- Professional development opportunities
- Ongoing consultation and opportunities to learn alongside other clinicians
