DuPont is looking for a dynamic, hands-onArea Manager to take the reins as the primary operational leader of our Automotive Adhesives & Fluids unit in Midland. This is more than a management role — it's a chance to own a critical piece of our business, serve as a key member of the site leadership team, and act as a true second-in-command shaping how strategy becomes reality on the plant floor every single day.

You'll lead a team of approximately 75 talented employees in a high-hazard, high-stakes manufacturing environment where safety, precision, and performance go hand in hand. If you thrive on ownership, love developing people, and want your decisions to directly move the needle on safety, quality, cost, and delivery — this is your opportunity to make a visible, lasting impact.

What You'll Own

Operational Leadership & Execution

  • Take full ownership of production performance across safety, quality, cost, and delivery.
  • Lead daily operations with precision, staying ahead of risks and constraints before they become problems.
  • Set the bar for operational discipline and hold the standard high.
  • Fuel continuous improvement through sharp, data-driven decision-making.

Safety, Compliance & Risk Management

  • Be the visible face of Environmental, Health & Safety excellence on site.
  • Ensure airtight compliance with DuPont standards, PSM, OSHA, and environmental regulations.
  • Drive incident investigations to true root cause and full closure.
  • Champion a proactive, no-compromise safety culture.

People Leadership & Organization Development

  • Lead, coach, and grow a team of 75 — turning potential into performance.
  • Build an inclusive environment grounded in DuPont's core values.
  • Fuel engagement, capability-building, and succession planning for the future.
  • Reinforce accountability at every level of the organization.

Cross-Functional Integration

  • Partner closely with Engineering, Quality, Maintenance, and Supply Chain.
  • Collaborate with Commercial, R&D, and Technical teams to align execution with strategy.
  • Work effectively with Labor Relations to keep the organization strong and united.

Strategic & Continuous Improvement

  • Translate big-picture business strategy into day-to-day execution plans.
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives that deliver real, measurable results.
  • Use KPIs as your compass to drive performance.
  • Own audits, contractor management, and emergency preparedness with confidence.

What You Bring

Required:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering.
  • 5+ years of experience in manufacturing operations.
  • Experience in high-hazard or PSM (Process Safety Management) environments.
  • Strong leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • The ability to operate seamlessly at both strategic and tactical levels.

Preferred:

  • Chemical manufacturing experience.
  • Six Sigma Green Belt or higher.
  • Lean/Operational Excellence experience.
  • Background in quality systems.

The Leader We're Looking For

  • Sets clear expectations and drives accountability.
  • Demonstrates strong operational ownership.
  • Builds trust across every level of the organization.
  • Balances relentless execution with long-term development.
  • Models DuPont's core values in everything they do.

Ready to lead, grow, and leave your mark on a site that matters? Apply today and help shape the future of DuPont's Automotive Adhesives & Fluids business in Midland.
