Ednovate Background
Ednovate launched its first school in 2012. Since then, we’ve grown to eight schools and are on a trajectory to reach 11 schools in just the next few years (you can read more about our schoolshere). Ednovate is committed to serving areas where students traditionally lack access to a quality college-prep education by building tuition-free, safe, high-performing public schools driven to create positive multi-generational change.
We are made up of world travelers, nacho connoisseurs, KPOP business owners, and Beyonce fans. We love LA and OC, and we're our students' biggest cheerleaders. We are looking to hire innovative changemakers who aim to continue our goal of becoming the high school experts across Southern California. Sound like you? Keep reading.
Position Overview
As the Director of Technology at Ednovate, you will oversee the design, procurement, and maintenance of all instructional and information technologies. You will drive core IT infrastructure—including networks, servers, security, and vendor management—and ensure seamless technology integration to support our schools. Direct end-to-end low-voltage technical engineering, vendor procurement, and infrastructure deployment for ground-up construction projects and facility modernizations across permanent and temporary sites. Ensure technical readiness and network reliability for testing environments. In partnership with the Academics team, evaluate emerging educational and administrative technologies, including AI integration, to continuously enhance teaching, learning, and operational efficiency.
Oversee and implement excellent customer support. Manage the internal ticketing system including escalation of tickets to appropriate parties. Set high standards for excellent customer service and hold external vendors accountable to meeting them. Continuously improve on policies and procedures for day-to-day activities (staff/student how-tos, security, acceptable use agreements, etc.). Manage and coach 2 members of the Tech Support Team, fostering a high-performance, service-oriented team culture. Lead Ednovate’s Technology support model by functionally directing and training school Operations teams to manage localized Tier 1/2 technical support effectively.
Direct cybersecurity, data governance, and policy. Develop and execute on enterprise cybersecurity strategy, threat mitigation, disaster recovery planning, and data protection policies. Ensure network-wide compliance with student data privacy laws (FERPA, COPPA, CIPA) and internal student and staff policies.
Own technology team operations. Oversee vendor selection, contract negotiations, and service level agreements (SLAs) across Managed Service Providers (MSPs), E-rate consultants, hardware OEMs, and EdTech partners. Co-develop and manage technology annual budget, using monthly budget-to-actual projection reports.
