AECOM is seeking for an experienced Senior Occupational Health and Safety Professional for employment in Panama City, Panama.Â
The responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Under minimal direction supervises personnel engaged in the ES&H functions within the company or on the same project.
- Implements policies and procedures to assure awareness of and compliance with ES&H requirements of the organization.
- Supervises personnel engaged in monitoring and preventing hazards and diseases that could be present throughout the work sites.
- Provides technical leadership and functional guidance to ensure regulatory standards are being enforced.
- Ensures that quality control procedures are executed to monitor all aspects of regulations.
- Serves in a liaison capacity with the resident contract agency representative and other various agencies engaged in promoting environmental safety and health activities.
- Drafts all necessary reports to Federal, State and local agencies.
- Coordinates audits of ES&H programs within the organization.
- Keeps informed on all existing and proposed changes in occupational health and safety regulations.
- Assists in the development and conducts basic ES&H training to employees.
- Communicates programs to enhance employee awareness of prevention and compliance.
- May administer an ES&H program on a large, specialized, complex project or multiple projects.
- Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Industry or Engineering safety, or in engineering discipline with a specialization in Occupational Health and Safety
- 8+Â years of relevant experience in comparable projects
- Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or equivalent certification
- Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH) or equivalent certification
- Experience in remote location safety and campsite safety management, as well as proven experience conducting audits under ISO 45001.
- Must have in-depth knowledge of OSHA 29 CFR Part 1926 construction safety standards, NFPA, ANSI and other relevant standards; and shall have experience in behavioral safety programs, occupational hygiene assessments in construction environment (sampling techniques, equipment and data interpretation).
- Experience as an occupational health and safety professional in at least one (1) comparable project, with a minimum cost of one hundred million United States dollars (USD $100 million)
- Familiar with environmental health and safety (EHS) integration in construction and proficient in safety management software tools (e.g., incident tracking, audit management, data analytics).
Preferred Requirements:
- 15+ years of relevant experience
- English and Spanish fluency
