Compensation: $20/hr + overtime

Introduction 

Working withour reinsurance team in North Americayou’ll learn more aboutreinsurance broking, risk mitigation solutions,claims decision makingand support our teams, doing real work for Howden Re's current and prospective clients. 

Whatyou’ll be doing 

Reinsurance is a complexworld; the easiest way to think about it is thatit’s insurance for the insurers.Working with ourteams,you’ll help insurance companiesprotect their futures, and the people they insure. 

You’ll be working with our clients who have suffered a loss, andyou’ll work with the reinsurers to see the claimthrough toa conclusion, all the way through to ourclients receiving funds. 

On aday-to-day basisyou’ll: 

• Work with the team to perform all reinsurance accounting functions for selected client accounts and provide backup coverage for other accounts as needed 

• Work with the team to receive initial loss notices, loss statusupdates and proofs of loss from clients and forward to applicable reinsurers 

• Confirm coverage under treaty; review contract wording for retention & limit, LAE treatment, loss reporting requirements, loss attachment basis,etc 

• Prepare / review loss calculations to ensure accuracy and compliance with contract terms 

• Process claims transactions in accounting and claims system 

• Track the status of reinsurer settlements 

Whowe’re looking for 

You’ll be working towards aBachelor’sdegree inany subject, ideally with a focus on accounting.You’ll be able to clearly communicate your thoughts and ideas both in writing and in person. And be able tohandle multiple tasks and projectsat the same time in aclient service,deadline-driven environment. 

You will: 

• Activelypursuing aBachelor’s degree 

• Be a rising senior (graduating in December 2027 or by June 2028)

• Have aGPAof3.0+ 

• Be proficient in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint 

• Pay close attention todetail, because every small detail matters 

• Legally authorized to work in the US
