Our Newest Opportunity:Â
The Senior Accountantâs responsibilities include maintaining financial records and reports, performing account reconciliations, assisting with close processes, assisting with audits and special projects. They will also be assisting the Director of Accounting as needed and respond to information requests by management and for auditing purposes.
To be successful as the Senior Accountant, one should be able to accurately maintain a general ledger and ensure compliance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP). An outstanding lead senior accountant should also have excellent communication, organizational, and analytical skills as well as be able to provide direction to team members and manage projects.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities (include but are not limited to):
- Maintaining financial reports, records, and general ledger accounts.
- Preparing journal entries, analyses, and account reconciliations and assisting with monthly close processes including accruals.
- Maintaining and compiling information for various internal and external audits.
- Performing monthly balance sheet reconciliations.
- Researching and resolving process issues and variance identified in reconciliations. Working with multiple departments to institute a process to avoid future issues.
- Meeting processing and reporting deadlines.
- Responding to information requests, reviewing financial statements, and assisting with audits.
- Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls and improve efficiency.
- Ensuring compliance with GAAP.
- Special projects and Ad hoc requests as needed
- Assisting the Director of Accounting as needed.
- Other duties as appropriate to the objectives of the role and goals of Resourcing Edge.
Qualifications, Skills and Requirements:
- Able to meet deadlines, and work well with others;
- Able to maintain a high level of confidentiality;
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills;
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail;
- Able to work independently and in a team environment;
- Able to prioritize tasks from various departments;
- Excellent judgement and problem solving skills;
- Takes initiative to perform research and propose solutions;
- Must be self-motivated, disciplined, and ability to thrive in fast-paced environment.
Education, Training and Experience:
- Bachelorâs degree in Finance/Accounting or Business with emphasis in Accounting, required;Â
- Masterâs degree in Finance/Accounting or CPA, preferred;
- Minimum five yearsâ experience in Accounting, required;
- Must be highly skilled in use of Microsoft Office;
- Financial reporting experience, required;
- Basic understanding of GAAP, required;
- Experience with Dynamics GP, preferred;
- Experience with FloQast, preferred.
Your base pay is dependent upon your skills, education, qualifications, professional experience, and location. In addition to base pay, some roles are eligible for variable compensation, commission, and/or annual bonus based on your individual performance and/or the companyâs performance.
