This position is ECB status – requires a minimum number of worked hours per month as needed by the department; limited benefit offerings.DaysJob Summary: Operates IDEXA scanner of the body for routine scans.
Minimum Education: High School Diploma or GED.
Licensure, Registration and/or Certification: Certified by International Society for Clinical Densitometry preferred.
Work Experience: 0 - 6 months related experience.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Ability to learn quickly and work independently. Ability to utilize basic keyboarding skills. Working knowledge of IDEXA machines. Working knowledge of film screen exposure techniques and protocols. Knowledge of anatomy and physiology.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities: Maintains IDEXA radiology procedure area according to established protocols. Positions patient on exam table for appropriate view, places immobilization devices, adjusts exposure factors to obtain images of specified area of body as requested by physician. Explains procedures to allow for understanding, cooperation, and to reduce anxiety of patient. Practices radiation protection technique by using beam restrictive devices; patient shielding skills to minimize radiation to the patient and staff. Obtains acceptable radiographic images using appropriate IDEXA computed radiology and/or film/screen techniques according to set Quality Control standards. Performs Quality Control checks to ensure proper operating status and reports malfunctions pursuant to established protocols. Obtains appropriate signature from interpreting physician. Completes the electronic medical record information associated with clinical bone densitometry. Enters final report into electronic medical record for ordering physician review in a timely manner. Maintains radiographic film library according to established protocols including the retrieval of films as requested. Documents and distributes patient test/film results to physicians in a timely manner. Check-in process for patients with imaging or orders. Completes digitizing of films received from other Warren Clinic offices on a daily basis. Completes and documents the radiology call report and STAT report process. Maintains and orders stock of necessary radiologic supplies as needed. Maintains exemplary patient satisfaction and participates as an engaged team member.
Decision Making: Independent judgment in making minor decisions where alternatives are limited and standard policies/protocols have been established.

Works with external customers via telephone or face to face interaction. Works with other healthcare professionals and staff. Works frequently with individuals at Director level or above.
