About Guardian RF
Drone detection for US defense and national security
Tech
Tech Description Our platform combines low-SWaP-C RF sensing hardware with scalable backend services and data science analytics. Engineers at Guardian RF work on challenges like: Real-time signal processing across wide RF spectra. High-throughput data pipelines and distributed backend systems. Machine learning for classification and tracking of drones. API integrations with command-and-control and emergency response platforms. Edge computing optimization for low-latency situational awareness.
The role
Guardian RF is building next-generation drone detection systems to protect critical infrastructure, national security, and public safety. Our passive RF-based platform provides real-time situational awareness by detecting both compliant and non-compliant drones and integrating directly with security and law enforcement systems. This role is primarily a full-time, in-person position based in Washington, DC, where close collaboration with our RF engineers and hardware team is essential. That said, we will consider strong candidates for remote work depending on experience and fit. As a backend engineer, you’ll design and build scalable services to process large volumes of RF data, develop APIs for integrations, and help shape the foundation of our distributed system. You’ll work closely with RF engineers, data scientists, and front-end developers to deliver mission-critical technology that has real-world impact.
