Job Description:
SUMMARY
Responsibleforsupplyingrawmaterialsandsuppliestoproductionlinesusingverymethodsandtools.
ESSENTIALDUTIESANDRESPONSIBILITIES
- Follows all company safety rules andpolicies.
- Orders and releases rawmaterials.
- Liaises between production andpurchasing.
- Conducts inventory and cycle counts andinvestigations.
- Reads work orders, production schedules or follows visual and oral instructions to determine materials to be moved, what parts are to be retrieved from receiving and where on the production line to position the specific parts for use by production employees.
- Knows, or can learn, manufacturing processes, receiving and production floor parts inventoryprocedures.
- Owns the kanban replenishment process, including maintenance of kanban bins/locations, visual parts, setup, and proper replenishment requests.
- Removes and delivers damaged parts off the production floor to the propersite.
- Operates forklift in a safe productivemanner.
- Works cooperatively and congenially with co-workers to achieve cohesive and productive work processes and work environment.
- Performs additional tasks as assigned by management or as the situationrequires.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Ability to follow verbal and writteninstructions.
- Ability to read and follow workorders.
- Ability to perform basic computer operation tasks and capable of learning programs used in kanban and production areas of the company including ERP Software, spreadsheets, and email.
- Possess a certified forklift operator license and a minimum of one-year experience. OSHAtrained.
- Familiarity or ability to learn lean flow manufacturingconcepts.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS & WORKENVIRONMENT
- Attend work regularly and report promptly for duty on the days and at the times scheduled by thesupervisor.
- Schedule changes occur and should be handled in a productivemanner
- Working temperatures vary with seasonal changes and climate control is limited. The environment is one in which noise exists.
- Sit on a forklift, stand, and/or walk for a combined minimum of eight (8) hours per day on a concretesurface.
- Lift and carry components, tools, or other items weighing more than 35 pounds. Any item over 35 pounds, is to be done with assistance
- May perform combination of physical movements to reach areas difficult to access including bending, stooping, squatting, reaching, twisting and rotation motions using head/neck, arms, wrists, waist, knees and arms while performing duties.
- Pull and push up to 100pounds.
- Handle small hand tools and power tools. Handling may be done unilaterally (one-handed) or bilaterally (two-handed) depending on size and shape of object and task being performed.
- Need corrected vision to be aware of surroundings and location of items needed and perform various other job duties.
- Need corrected hearing to identify conditions in the environment (i.e. forklift horns, firealarms).
- Need mental alertness to identify, avoid, or resolve safetyhazards.
- Ability to communicate with supervisors and co-workers.
- Ability to wear designated personal protective equipment for the work assignment (i.e. safety glasses, cut-resistant gloves, cut resistant sleeves, dust masks).
Hours ofWork
Monday – Friday – 6:00am to 2:30pm and OT whenrequired
