SHIFT LEAD — REDLANDS, CA

Chaiwale & Co. is looking for a reliable, responsible, and hospitality-focused Shift Lead to join our team in Redlands, CA!

The Shift Lead will help oversee daily café operations, support and lead team members, provide excellent customer service, and make sure each shift runs smoothly. We’re looking for someone who leads by example and is comfortable taking initiative in a fast-paced environment.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Lead and support the café team during assigned shifts

• Create a friendly, welcoming, and positive environment for customers and team members

• Ensure excellent customer service and hospitality standards are consistently maintained

• Help train, coach, and support new and existing team members

• Delegate tasks and make sure team members stay productive throughout the shift

• Prepare coffee, espresso drinks, chai, teas, and other beverages

• Handle food preparation and service according to food safety guidelines

• Operate the POS system and assist with cash handling

• Address customer questions, concerns, and service issues professionally

• Ensure the café is clean, organized, stocked, and properly maintained

• Assist with opening and closing procedures

• Monitor product and supply levels and communicate restocking needs

• Follow recipes, operating procedures, and food safety standards

• Help maintain a safe and positive work environment

• Step in wherever needed to support the team during busy periods

• Communicate important shift updates and issues to management

• Help ensure company policies and procedures are followed

CHAI & COFFEE LOVERS WELCOME!

A genuine love of chai, coffee, and café culture is a big plus! Experience with espresso, coffee, chai, specialty beverages, or food service is preferred. We want someone who is excited about our products and can help create a great experience for our customers.

LEADERSHIP & EXPERIENCE

Previous shift lead, supervisor, restaurant, café, coffee shop, or hospitality experience is preferred. We’re looking for someone who can lead by example, but we also value strong work ethic, reliability, attitude, and willingness to learn.

FOOD HANDLER CARD

Because this position involves food and beverage service, a valid Food Handler Card is required, or you must be willing to obtain one.

TRAINING & TRAVEL

Training will be provided at our Orange, CA location for approximately one week, tentatively, prior to or around the start of your position.

Training will be paid, and travel expenses for required training will be reimbursed.

Applicants must have a reliable means of transportation to and from the Orange training location and be able to reliably commute to the Redlands location for scheduled shifts.

POSITION DETAILS

Location: Redlands, CA

Position: Shift Lead

Employment: Full-Time

Pay: $19.00–$21.00/hour + tips, depending on experience

Schedule: Flexible — including mornings, evenings, weekends & holidays
