Title: Workday Payroll and Time & Absence Functional Configurator
Location: Atlanta, Charlotte, Greensboro, Richmond, Raleigh, Winston-Salem
Duration: 12 Months CTH

Description:
Business Initiative/Purpose: (Goal, Business Impact, Accomplishments from the work)
The Workday Payroll and Time & Absence Configurator will be responsible for the configuration, enhancement, testing, deployment, and support of Workday Payroll, Time Tracking, Absence Management, Leave Administration, and related HCM functionality. This role will partner with Payroll, HR, Benefits, Technology, and Vendor teams to deliver scalable solutions supporting payroll operations, payroll transformation initiatives, regulatory compliance, and employee time and leave processes.

Bachelor Degree: (Required, Preferred or Not Required)
  • Masters.

Role Responsibilities: (what they will be doing)
• Configure and maintain Workday Payroll, Time Tracking, and Absence Management functionality.
• Gather and analyze business requirements and translate them into Workday solutions.
• Configure earnings, deductions, payroll calculations, validations, payroll periods, and payroll processing rules.
• Configure time entry, time calculations, work schedules, time validations, and time tracking policies.
• Configure absence plans, leave programs, accrual schedules, eligibility rules, and leave administration processes.
• Configure and maintain payroll, time, and absence-related business processes.
• Develop and maintain calculated fields, condition rules, eligibility rules, and validations.
• Support payroll frequency conversion, payroll transformation, and payroll outsourcing initiatives.
• Conduct impact analysis for Workday releases and business enhancements.
• Support testing activities including SIT, UAT, payroll parallel testing, and regression testing.
• Perform payroll and time data validation, reconciliation, and audit activities.
• Troubleshoot application issues and provide production support.
• Partner with integrations, reporting, security, benefits, HR, and payroll teams to ensure end-to-end solution delivery.
• Create and maintain configuration documentation, process flows, and support procedures.
• Lead regression testing for bi-annual Workday releases; manage UAT, parallel runs, and cutovers.
• Maintain configuration documentation, test scripts, and change control artifacts.
• Tier-2/3 support for payroll issues; root cause analysis; corrective actions.
• Build Reports, dashboards (gross-to-net, tax variance, costing), and payroll KPIs.

• 8 years of Workday Payroll and/or Time & Absence configuration experience.
• Hands-on experience configuring Workday Payroll, Time Tracking, and Absence modules.
• Strong understanding of payroll processing, payroll compliance, and payroll operations.
• Experience supporting payroll implementations, enhancements, and production support.
• Experience configuring business processes, validations, and security related to payroll and time management.
• Experience supporting testing activities, payroll reconciliations, and deployment readiness.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and stakeholder management skills.
• Experience working in Agile/Scrum delivery environments.
