TheDivision

The Program Coordinator position is located in the Lindsey Flanigan Court House at 520 W. Colfax Ave., Denver,CO80204andisanon-sitepositionfrom8-4:30pm.CompetencyDiversionandtheCompetency Support Docket are a collaboration between Denver County Court, the Colorado State Public Defenders Office, the Denver District Attorney's Office, Denver Pretrial Services, WellPower, Bridges of Colorado, and many community partners.

AboutOurJob 

DenverCountyCourtisseekingaProgramCoordinatortosupportcompetencyprogramming,including the Competency Support Docket (CSD) and Competency Diversion Program (CD).

 

Denver County Court's Competency Diversion program serves individuals with misdemeanor and felony leveloffenses,whiletheCompetencySupportDocketisspecifictoindividualswithmisdemeanorcharges. Both the docket and CD program work to identify individuals who are not likely competent to proceed and divert or deflect them to community mental health treatment and services, resulting in the dismissal of charges, and thus reduces the filing of formal competency in the Court system.

 

ThispositioncoordinatesandworksincollaborationwiththeProgramManager,stakeholdersacrossthe criminal justice system, case managers, and treatment providers to support court programming and program participants. The coordinator will primarily focus on data collection and collaboration with program stakeholders.

 

ThecoordinatorreportsdirectlytotheProgramManager.AsaProgramCoordinator,youcanexpectto:

  • Assist with the implementation, operation and sustainability of Competency Diversion and the Competency Support Docket
  • Perform administrative support to ensure program success, including: receiving case and program referrals – enter into tracking system, track status, and update outcomes; receiving daily competency filings at Municipal and State levels - enter into tracking system, update outcomes of competency hearings and evaluations
  • Conduct screening with referred individuals as needed
  • Track and maintain program data for Competency Diversion and Competency Support Docket. Assist with preparing programmatic and data reports
  • AttendweeklystaffingmeetingsforCompetencyDiversionandCompetencySupport Docket
  • Attend weekly docket and provide programmatic support to stakeholders and court participants
  • Coordinate efforts with program stakeholders and community providers for release planning
  • Coordinate and communicate regularly with Competency stakeholders to implement, maintain, and support the Competency programming
  • Other duties as assigned

•   Educationrequirement:GraduationfromhighschoolorthepossessionofaGED,HiSETor TASC Certificate.

•   Experience Requirement: Five (5) years of technical or administrative experience performingstandardresearchandevaluation,casemanagement,and/orimplementing work processes.

•   Education/ExperienceEquivalency:One(1)yearoftheappropriatetypeandlevelof education may be substituted for each required year experience.

•   License/Certifications:None
